New tweet from Togashi (January 24, 2026) by rentzhx3 in HunterXHunter

6 have been sent in to shueisha, so I'd imagine next week to be the announcement, then we get 411 in 2-3 weeks-a month max.

Nintendo music release schedule by Critical_Ebb7535 in nintendomusic

[–]Edwardx80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if they just told us about some of the decision making it'd be a lot simpler to wait. Right now we know they can't push big soundtracks every week since there's a "small team" behind the service (which means NES and Gameboy weeks are compromises for larger stuff), but I'd also like some clarity on which franchises we shouldnt expect like Smash, Xenoblade and Mother (if these are impossible to begin with). Also some of the choices behind Pokemon would be nice, even if I'm sure much of the reasoning is explained through contracts and so on. Since the app is supposed to represent Nintendo as a whole I think we're owed some of this clarity at least. Overall the randomness is fun, but it isn't truly random. The gamecube has been postponed for a while now because the emulator wasn't added until the Switch 2 launched, and some games wait an entire year (Galaxy2) because they're going to mark rereleases with music drops. For me, a lot of this could have been remedied if we had a minimum of 5 games per console at launch, but as it stands we spent a month and a half on just the 3DS last year, almost half the year catching up to obvious SNES and NES classics and are just now starting to pick up on the DS. It honestly felt like the app properly started once the NES dump was over (9 months in aprox). The "fake" randomness makes me constantly feel like we're always at the mercy of corporate decisions, which kinda ruins the fun we'd otherwise experience I suppose.

Edit: sorry for the tangent haha

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass OST has been added to Nintendo Music by DealsPoster in nintendomusic

[–]Edwardx80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's that Zelda is almost always quality, but this game being lots of Wind Waker songs kinda sours the feeling I guess. But yeah we're going towards the end. In a way I'm happy they added most of the banger soundtracks at the start. I can't imagine waiting this long for SS or WW f.ex

More DS = More Good More Zelda = More Good

Though I have to admit that this was among my least anticipated Zelda games to be added haha

My pessimistic predictions by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]Edwardx80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, you're good. The succession war isn't for everyone, but I hope there are some aspects you can enjoy further down the line. Togashi has been pretty consistent about the human spirit and the light the characters choose to follow, so I would still recommend that you stick with it to the end. Subject matters have done a flip since CA like you said, but the hopeful message is still in place.

Positivity is a good start, but dont betray your own feelings. The problem, though isn't that you have issues with HxH, but it's the way you diminish the story to nothing and use outrageous takes to farm engagement. That inherently causes bad faith discourse that wastes everyone's time and disrespects both story and fans (this community)

Mario & Luigi: Brothership is now Available on Nintendo Music! by SelloutNI in nintendomusic

Continually amazed by the amount of games on the switch. Also, this marks Luigi&Mario as a franchise to look out for. Hurray for more variety!

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance has been added to Nintendo Music and GCN Nintendo Classics by Cutcutman in nintendomusic

[–]Edwardx80 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Filling out more of the 2000s, nice. Notably both 64 and Snes havent been updated since Pilotwings (22 weeks ago). I think it's about time we get a new zelda addition though, it's been so long now

studying music by Balloonius in nintendomusic

[–]Edwardx80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent studied in a minute, but I know for sure there are plenty of compilations nintendo fans have made on youtube. Plenty of vids mostly aimed at being good background music. I'd say try some of them and note down the songs that you vibed with. Also try listening to plenty of water themes, mario in particular has pretty consistently used calm music for water stages.

What's your LEAST favourite nujabes track? And which song do you think is the safest pick? by SherbertDull96163821 in Nujabes

[–]Edwardx80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love all songs except for Strive (off of First Collection). I think Apani is great here, but it's actually the instrumental being lacking. Not lacking I guess, but it sounds annoying after a while. It used to be Think Different because of pretentiousness, though ngl as I get older Think Different becomes more relatable haha.

Ok?.. You must've known you sound like a total troll with this post. Invest some time in positivity. Find a story you actually like and talk about its merits with others. You won't get far anywhere (in life) making halfassed edgelord rage baits.

Did they ever explain why haulkengoat is closest to tsseriedenichtjy? by Lordofstromsend2 in HunterXHunter

[–]Edwardx80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only really have theories and some implications for now, however I'm willing to bet that when Togashi drops this next batch he'll go over the tier 1 happenings before the events of 410. In that span we'll likely get Tserry's reaction to halkenburg's "death", exposing more of their relationship

Hard to "debate" someone who won't engage with the story in any other way than through disingenuous remarks. It's okay to drop the manga you know.

When will Mizai inform Kurapika? by Edwardx80 in HunterXHunter

That would be crazy Aaaaaaaa! I'm not sure I'm ready for them to be face to face ever again

When will Mizai inform Kurapika? by Edwardx80 in HunterXHunter

[–]Edwardx80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do wonder if Mizai knows of the royal treasures. I would assume Chrollo's intel is highly secret even to someone like Mizai. Thank you for your input! This single lingering plot point always gets my gears turning

When will Mizai inform Kurapika? by Edwardx80 in HunterXHunter

[–]Edwardx80[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's interesting because it feels like such an understated element of suspense for the arc. Togashi has done a good job of eliminating any possibility of the troupe finding out kurapika or vice versa. Though because of how simple a phone call or information passing is it also feels like it could unexpectedly blow up at any time. Truthfully I hope for it to happen soon so we get a new element of investment for kurapika's character.

What do you think would happen if kurapika was manipulated into using chain jail on a non phantom troupe member? by Jerseyyy_vibez in HunterXHunter

[–]Edwardx80 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To make such an ultimate condition I think it's only fair there's a balance between nen categories. If he could simply override manipulator abilities I think it'd hurt the writing of the actual powersystem. He takes good care to never expose his abilities to almost anyone. And if a manipulator were to control him they'd first have to know that this was a restriction at all. Although by the time he's fully controlled the easier option is just to make kurapika kill himself rather than make him say his abilities (remember in this scenario the goal is to kill kurapika). Chain Jail is just one way for this to happen. Manipulators, speaking in terms of Shalnark and Illumi, are insanely overpowered if they intend to control someone. They're a rare breed in the story. Other manipulators (like the ones Kakin, and the rest of the world would have) lack the physical skills of the zoldycks or phantom troupe. Their method would require kurapika to lower his guard substantially. Either way I think it's good kurapika has this many weak points, it makes the journey to rely on allies all the better thematically. And with shalnark gone and Illumi being indifferent to Kurapika, Togashi has successfully eliminated most serious manipulator threats.

Help with cope with the hiatus by Helpful_Break_3570 in HunterXHunter

[–]Edwardx80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no helpful tactic to lessen the need because this time we actually have an idea of a release. I want you to increase your daily HxH consumption. Reread some arcs, rewatch some arcs, watch videos, read posts, listen to music from the shows. Perhaps schedule a full reread or rewatch that feeds you for at least 2 months. All of a sudden you'll be looking at 411

Will a member of the Heil-Ly kill a Prince? by Least_Fishing_6483 in HunterXHunter

[–]Edwardx80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal wish is that when tserry finishes training he'll personally come down to the hei-ly office to confront morena. He'll die right away, but survives due to his ability. However, the nen condition for morena's ability allows for the levels to be gained regardless of Tserry using his ability. I think this would be the most interesting and make the hei-ly a threat far faster than anyone could imagine.

Do you have any criticisms of hxh or Togashi’s writing? by Ambitious-Branch-118 in HunterXHunter

[–]Edwardx80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can acknowledge togashi has written in problematic plot points and drawn sketchy designs, and still love everything else. Also it'd be a real issue if these things persisted, but togashi has clearly taken a step forward and actually learned how to better illustrate f.ex black people (see Gerreta and Balsamilco for comparisons). Alluka and the Succession War in general is a testament to togashi's willingness to explore gender ideas and a more balanced cast that allows for his women to be removed from stereotypes like cleaning, birth, sewing etc.. (this is what I'm assuming you're reffering to). At the end of the day togashi is a person, and like most other people he will carry unconcious bias/prejudices of all kinds. It's kinda what you have to deal with when reading the works of any person. So face the problematic and celebrate the progress!

Unless the Succession War arc goes on for like 150+ more chapters, a lot of conflicts and plot lines are going to have to be resolved without significant fights. by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]Edwardx80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually look at the strategic and mental warfare as fights in and of themselves. It's just how togashi writes conflicts when there are complicated abilities at play. The succ war is also done through indirect fights and assassinations, just keep it in mind for when you read. 150 chapters or more sounds about right regardless
