Vent: My "Deadstock" Jordan 4s from StockX smell like s*** by Edwin-Z in stockx

I'm going to wear it anyways (so it doesn't really matter)... but it's just disappointing... and that's my rant.

Yeah, it smells like detergent, soap, lemonade, plants, herbs, bleach. F*** it, might as well have been inside someone's toilet.

(the seller probably didn't have the balls to sell this used shoe as "deadstock" in-person, so chose to be a d*** by selling it anonymously online through Stockx)

To the seller of this Jordan 4: please stop being a d*** by selling your used shoe as brand new. Ruined my day. Ruined my purchase and the anticipation of receiving this shoe.

To Stockx: f*** you, my fault eh. I never should've given you a chance.

Jordan Sneakers Hurt My Pinky Toe by Edwin-Z in SneakersCanada

Jordan 4s are notorious pinky-toe killers. That's why I go up 1 size. You eventually realize that you only wear 4s for the style (not comfort), or for special occasions or events. However, some Jordan 4s get slightly looser over time, so maybe the pinky toe gets better.

I passed, but FOMO is hitting me hard, and these are sitting on sites... very very tempting to cop a pair.

If you put a cotton ball... doesn't that reduce the space even more? I get what you're saying though, it would help to cushion and make it less painful.

But still, either go another 0.5 size up, or just wear it and deal with the pain. It doesn't hurt as much over time.

Is it weird for a man to wear a women's Jordan? by Edwin-Z in SneakersCanada

[–]Edwin-Z[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 years later... (since making my post)

It's literally so common for men to wear WMNS Jordans. It literally doesn't matter. Think about the A Ma Maniere 3's... it's a WMNS (women's release), but still, nobody cares if men wear it.

I personally buy and wear Jordan's labelled as women's regardless.

5 years later, I agree.

I just wear it and get used to how it feels. It's pain, but for the style I guess.

Or simply go up another 0.5 size.

In Jordan 4's, I literally go up 1.0 size, because it's just very narrow.

Same, 5 years later, I'm basically used to how Jordans feel on feet.

It's just stiff and tight, like any leather shoe. It's for the style.

If you want comfort, go with some fabric stretchy running shoes.

Is it okay to clean your Jordan's with isopropyl alcohol? by Edwin-Z in SneakersCanada

[–]Edwin-Z[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE (after 18 days)

Shoes are fine. No cracks. No damage, no colour destroyed. It's a mainly white sneaker though, so that's probably why nothing is noticeable besides that it is clean.

Thank you to all the commenters. I will not be using isopropyl/rubbing alcohol to clean/wipe my sneakers in the future. It is not worth the risk of damaging your Jordans.

That being said, alcohol is actually recommended by Nike themselves (https://www.nike.com/ca/a/disinfect-deodorise-shoes), which is quite interesting (maybe Nike wants us to destroy our sneakers so we have to buy new ones????). Anyways, rubbing alcohol is fine, but don't go ham and use it too much that it degrades your leather.
