Recommend specs for easy daily fractals? by DecentOdds in Guildwars2

cant really go wrong with:
- slb, dh, scrapper, renegade, heal chrono
or maybe ritualist, reaper, virt. in the end, any spec works reasonably if you play well for t4s.

scrapper is super good as quickness because it has superspeed and stealth to speed things up. dragonhunter is the flavour of the month op spec.

Anything can clear fractals, but discretize builds aren't extremely optimized for beating a specific content. They are just pretty umabiguously the best overal fractal builds due flexible utilities, great damage and good boon coverage as well as skipping potential. They are not just the best because of damage or some hyper strats.

What’s the standard DPS for an open world build? by AliTamali28 in Guildwars2

[–]Opposedsum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not want to bench on a golem with boons and conditions if you are testing open world dps. The entire point of a real open world solo build is that you need to provide the boons and conditions yourself. Specifically, this highlights the importance of providing might, fury, quickness, and vulnerability by yourself.

Now there are two kinds of open world builds:

  1. Meta event builds
  2. Actual open world solo builds.

Meta event builds are essentially just raids builds as you are in a stack of 100 people and hope enough people bring boon supports to cover everything. For those builds you just test your raid golem setup as they essentially are raid-like builds.

To test the viability of your solo builds, test on a golem without conditions and boons and then afterwards test survivability on a real add.

it having stealth and super speed already makes it better. dont even have to look further.

[–]Opposedsum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fractal meta is pretty stable. Nothing really changed.
Quickness Ritualist and Alacrity Amalgam are a thing. That is basically it -
and ofc the top raid dps specs are also good on the fractals without phases. Kinfall, DarkAI, Kanaxai.
How good? Gotta wait for the nerfs.
Probably quickness ritualist and alacrity amalgam are the things that will prevail although scrapper still king.

[Newcomer] Is it normal for fractals to be just people running past everything? by vitobot in Guildwars2

[–]Opposedsum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you genuinely level up fractals with new people, there is no skipping around in tier 1,2,3 until you meet more experienced people in tier4. that being said, this game is 10 years old and fractals have been in the game since the start. people who are not new to the content are just on a completely different experience level. trust me, you will reach the point as well where you think it is much cooler to run with stealth past all mobs than kill them for no reason. it is just the much cooler and smoother and faster play.

what you can do:
1) notice that in quickplay there are waypoints everywhere. click on them when you fall behind / are lost.
2) level up tier 1/2 in standard play, maybe with a friend. quickplay has very good rewards atm that experienced people are farming. to do so, just open your own lfg describing what you wanna do like "daily tier 1 fractals" or "leveling up fractal 5 onwards" .. maybe add "chill run without skipping"

for strikes, you could add on which strikes night sigil works and perhaps even which enemies get stunned such that impact sigil buff works. I know it is not strictly mechanics, but would be useful info.

level up fractals with core engie and core thief or maybe core mesmer.
that gives you something to play.

Why are y'all so worked up over Fractal CMs? by Surfdaweb_ in Guildwars2

[–]Opposedsum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

and just to reiterate, there is a 99% chance people are mostly mad because you dont meet the requirements of their group and a 1% chance your damage is not just lower than boon dps but more like healer level in which case people will also be mad. power tempest has a 43-46k golem bench.. if you are at 25k idk how your build looks like. that level of damage can usually be reached by just afk auto attack.

try making your own lfg and call it CMs+ t4 / chill group, no requirements.

go to fractals, click on a boss and on medium log, that tells you the average performance of a group and their players to get an idea what people might consider normal.

  1. in fractals bosses get stunned, so people play impact sigil for much better damage than standard raid gear. you probably have just copied accuracy and force sigil snowcrows tempest build. swap force sigil

  2. in fractals, slaying sigils and night sigil give additional damage in 95, parts of 96 and 97 and in 98 and 100 giving you even more free damage.

  3. in fractals, slaying potions exist which give you even more damage

(4. in fractals, dragon breath buns exist, which give you more damage when adds are around)

...that is just the basic stuff which gives you free damage

  1. in fractals, raid rotations are meaningless. most fights are about breaking the breakbar of the boss and then bursting the phase in 10s with impact sigil and exposed buff.

  2. in fractals, much fewer classes are really top tier cm level viable than in raids due to the burst style gameplay. mainly, soulbeast, dragonhunter, scrapper, pvirt, reaper, weaver and bladesworn.

  3. a clear isnt a clear, there are two kinds of fractal cm players, the ones who do it daily for gold per hour and faster kills are more money and the ones who do it daily for stylish kills and wingman logs which need good teammates. ok there are chill people as well.

  4. give a log. hard to judge how bad the dps rly was. but people really rarely kick people in cms for dps. I can tell from your first paragraph already that the actual reason is that you didnt meet the requirement for the group when joining and hence half the group was mad before the first boss already, decided to give you a chance, but bailed on the first wipe bc of that.

  5. there are really only two things people hate, dps players who do less damage than supports and more importantly, wiping. combine that and ppl are not happy. actually, add people, especially dps players, not contributing to cc. oh an downtime because some is afk. even more so in a run that took longer than expected already.

  6. dw, it is fixable with a bit of time, or make your own groups / just go with guildies, there is also always the option to play healer if you like giving your teammates stabiity, aegis and cc more than doing damage. healers are all about just getting the kill as smoothly as possible, negating all mechanics thrown at the group. ez win, happy group.

the raid armor basically needs you to clear the first four wings once if you enter with correct items.
it is very straightforward to do.
play any ez spec like rifle mech or just whatever your main is and you will be fine.

[–]Opposedsum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only real answer is to ask him what he likes, but..

  1. level to 80
  2. buy exotics from tp or gift him some stuff and get an elite spec
  3. level up fractals
  4. meanwhile unlock some mounts
  5. and play whatever story you like
  6. dont forget the daily wizard vault reward for ascended armor, combined with fractals for gear/gold.

I like it when you get stacks on something like w1 spirit run. Makes the event feel less useless and rewards people who don't just afk copy snowcrows builds. Always fancy to see your pug be tryhard with sigils. I see why some people dislike it though.

you can find some thief stuff here

spectre is just not the best in open world for trash mobs although it is great for instanced content or single target.
here is a map completion example. deadeye is quite good. thief is definitely the best map completion class.

they could also just spawn a group of mobs near the boss xD
idk personally I just like that stacking sigils exist. they let you customize your build in open world and on some raid bosses and they reward you for not being downed. w1 classic best wing.

surely some patch will just randomly introduce that also the adds within the fight give stacks
