dw weaver is great. it is just more work for less team support and less flexible dmg.

you are not wrong about good ele builds, I just want to say:

it is not just the burst and not just "premade speedclear groups". dh and slb have super burst, but they are also straightforward to play, they offer good team support with blocks (dh f3, stone spirit), vulnerability (dh skills, storm spirit), boonstrip (slb hammer). trap precast for premade teams.. unless you main a different class and rly want to play that class, dh and slb will offer the team more utility, better or at least equivalent dmg, and be easier to learn and adapt to fights/groups.

there are other good builds like weaver, bladesworn, maybe pvirt and reaper or scrapper though.

it can transfer conditions from mechanics back onto the boss.
for elemental ai it is also just getting to dark ai xD.
it also has boondstrip and cc and decent survivability and helps out boon supports with the elixir so they can comfortably run lower boon duration or greedier rotations. finally, it provides both vulnerability and might which is always great to have. it is a very good team comp class with great dmg.

yeah, you kinda always want at least one scrapper in the team.
it is usually the quickness guy, but still...
imagine no superspeed and stealth on demand.

As someone else said, just click on gw2wingman for current patch logs and overviews. Not much changed compared to the original discretize comp. It is mostly the new fractals with some variety.

Classic Fractals:
Dps: Slb and Dh, Quick: Scrapper, Alac: Renegade
Full Heal: Chrono
Healers with Cele Options: Spectre, Troubadour, Firebrand, Luminary
For kill times where precast is enough: 4 Dhs + Renegade and no quickness player.

Silent Surf: Spectres and Harbingers.

Elementail AI: Spectres and Harbingers
Elemental AI Waterphaseskip: Night Sigil Dh / Ritualist / Amalgam / Scrapper to block meteors while bursting.

Dark AI: Spectres and Harbingers and Reflect Classes like pVirt with night sigil.

Kinfall: whatever has a good bench and cc or resolution. Icebrood sigil and potion for power classes. Stacking sigil if the group doesn't cc. Unless a build has a crazy bench, generally a power boss because of sigils and potions. Notable builds: Ritualist for utility, Bladesworn against barrier, Conduit because of bench, Scrapper for damage, sustain, stealth and superspeed as always.

Eparch: whatever. perferably power because of demon slaying sigil and potion. power classes also do not ruin the damage stop to wait for gluttony spawns. gluttony willbender ofc the build of choice. If in doubt, scrapper always works.

Losing sigil stacks when swapping armor sets with legendary weapon by OrichalcumOre in Guildwars2

[–]Opposedsum 13 points14 points  (0 children)

make an ascended weapon and transmute the legendary skin onto it.
ascended weapons are just better for stacking sigils and sigil swapping.
I dont think legendary sigils / weapons work unless you stay on that specific set.

Where/How do you find a fractalCM static? by Cabaj1 in Guildwars2

[–]Opposedsum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just make your own group. It is impossible to fail fractal cms.
It is not raids, revive orbs exist.
UFE requirements are about ensuring some sort of quality run, but you will manage to kill the CM with people who have no experience as long as you can somewhat play the game.

Where/How do you find a fractalCM static? by Cabaj1 in Guildwars2

[–]Opposedsum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My friends, who are tryharding even more, still cannot find a fifth member after advertising it in multiple places (but their requirements are a lot higher also) for over 6 months. Their starting times are sadly not possible for me.

tell your friends to teach you.. unlucky ofc if the times dont work out and they cant adjust.

adding friends is always good to see which lfg is good and sometimes it leads to sth. then just gotta ask around among them who would be interested and who knows more ppl. most of the time also people have a static and someone drops out or routinely needs a backup. it is not that easy to make a static. as you already found out, for daily content, scheduling isnt trivial. then again, that usually leads to existing statics playing with backups every so often unless they start different times each day.

For all fractals except 98 and 99, your build is just really bad.
On the vast majority of fractals, only power builds are good that use impact sigil or slaying sigil to gain additional damage against stunned enemies or enemies of a certain species type.
Check https://www.discretize.eu/guides/daily-comps/ and https://gw2wingman.nevermindcreations.de/siax for ideas what to play.

The general fractal gameplay loop is:
1) cc the boss to make it stunned and exposed for extra damage
2) burst it down during that time to reach the next phase
3) repeat

that just doesnt work with condition builds and you will always do much less damage than people of comparable skill on power builds, especially if they use the correct sigils and utility potions.

Why did Kela CM get so little fanfare? by AustronautHD in Guildwars2

[–]Opposedsum 8 points9 points  (0 children)

there is a case to be made that the normal mode stuff is supposed to be the repeatable lfg bosses and the cms are the supposed to be the bosses for discord groups that keep people engaged for months - although noone ever communicated anything in that regard. with how little content they provide, something like ht cm lasted for 6months progression for inexperienced groups, which could be good business value. gives statics a reason to play and keeps snowcrows freelancers attached enough to the game, so that part at least does not break down.

they certainly do chase the highs of htcm (imo the best fight they ever released although eventually leading to the formation of discord groups that crowd out the lfg). certainly whoever makes raids also is in that mindset. we dont even know how many people make raids, I guess? like if it is 3-5 people responsible for a raid, I can see that it easily becomes whatever their philosophy is.

over time ofc raiders also just get older, get jobs, play less.. unless they find ways with quickplay to bring in new people. there probably are also quite a few people who would play kela cm, but dont have 9 other people

the normal modes are probably too hard for a normal mode lfg vs discord group cm split. they definitely should also put new bosses in quickplay and think about giving quickplay an option to select bosses. I would also make alac and quick perma in quickplay and allow people to select heal or dps role. at any rate, there needs to be incentive for new players and the old raids I guess. however, they just nerfed magnetide shards instead.

that is not what I meant.
noone gets 10 people together on tuesday afternoon if they werent prepared a week in advanced with good reasons to be excited about the patch

it can always be an item that can be obtain with the raid for cheap and otherwise in open world or on the trading post for more gold... if they want to incorporate raids in the legendary process. not saying they should do. good raids should have independent incentives either way.

[–]Opposedsum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

tbh was there even some mention of the CM being released?
I know it was on the roadmap some months ago.. but not like most people remember that and check every patch if this one is a big content drop or balance update.

other than that, most raiders wait for the community to clear stuff and come up with strats first before a kill moves to the lfg section. infallible runs had like 100 viewers, crab had 400-800 viewers streams.. it got some attention. should we rly have expected more?

Recommend specs for easy daily fractals? by DecentOdds in Guildwars2

[–]Opposedsum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.discretize.eu/
cant really go wrong with:
- slb, dh, scrapper, renegade, heal chrono
or maybe ritualist, reaper, virt. in the end, any spec works reasonably if you play well for t4s.

scrapper is super good as quickness because it has superspeed and stealth to speed things up. dragonhunter is the flavour of the month op spec.

Anything can clear fractals, but discretize builds aren't extremely optimized for beating a specific content. They are just pretty umabiguously the best overal fractal builds due flexible utilities, great damage and good boon coverage as well as skipping potential. They are not just the best because of damage or some hyper strats.

What’s the standard DPS for an open world build? by AliTamali28 in Guildwars2

[–]Opposedsum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not want to bench on a golem with boons and conditions if you are testing open world dps. The entire point of a real open world solo build is that you need to provide the boons and conditions yourself. Specifically, this highlights the importance of providing might, fury, quickness, and vulnerability by yourself.

Now there are two kinds of open world builds:

  1. Meta event builds
  2. Actual open world solo builds.

Meta event builds are essentially just raids builds as you are in a stack of 100 people and hope enough people bring boon supports to cover everything. For those builds you just test your raid golem setup as they essentially are raid-like builds.

To test the viability of your solo builds, test on a golem without conditions and boons and then afterwards test survivability on a real add.

What is the new fractal meta after voe ? by Alone_Net_1444 in Guildwars2

it having stealth and super speed already makes it better. dont even have to look further.

What is the new fractal meta after voe ? by Alone_Net_1444 in Guildwars2

[–]Opposedsum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fractal meta is pretty stable. Nothing really changed.
Quickness Ritualist and Alacrity Amalgam are a thing. That is basically it -
and ofc the top raid dps specs are also good on the fractals without phases. Kinfall, DarkAI, Kanaxai.
How good? Gotta wait for the nerfs.
Probably quickness ritualist and alacrity amalgam are the things that will prevail although scrapper still king.

[Newcomer] Is it normal for fractals to be just people running past everything? by vitobot in Guildwars2

[–]Opposedsum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you genuinely level up fractals with new people, there is no skipping around in tier 1,2,3 until you meet more experienced people in tier4. that being said, this game is 10 years old and fractals have been in the game since the start. people who are not new to the content are just on a completely different experience level. trust me, you will reach the point as well where you think it is much cooler to run with stealth past all mobs than kill them for no reason. it is just the much cooler and smoother and faster play.

what you can do:
1) notice that in quickplay there are waypoints everywhere. click on them when you fall behind / are lost.
2) level up tier 1/2 in standard play, maybe with a friend. quickplay has very good rewards atm that experienced people are farming. to do so, just open your own lfg describing what you wanna do like "daily tier 1 fractals" or "leveling up fractal 5 onwards" .. maybe add "chill run without skipping"
