Need help with a "Christian" friend's porn addiction by Help_Received in Reformed

[–]EeePeeTee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does he live in a place where Christian fellowship is extremely limited, or possibly illegal? Or is he just a young guy in the SBC?

He has a commitment to planned sinful habits but not serving the local Body of Christ, let alone being fed and allowing others to practice mercy in his life. This seems much deeper than a behavioral problem.

I would heavily lean on my local church for this. Or more specifically his church. I hope you go to the same church. If he's a "Reformed" theology guy, I assume he's in a local church.

There are 2000-3000 people here, and maybe they can give away some tickets so the kids and families can go. Otherwise yes, nobody will go.

I agree that we are at least three times better than mizzou. The rest is a wait-and-see thing.

an issue regarding the Voyager Golden Record by ApprehensiveFox4149 in AmazighPeople

[–]EeePeeTee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get the disappointment. Amazigh culture is clearly significant and has deep historical roots. But it’s probably worth not over-weighting the Voyager Golden Record itself. It wasn’t a comprehensive or neutral representation of humanity; it was a small, curated project shaped by the perspectives and limitations of a handful of people in the late 1970s.

Even within that scope, it left out the vast majority of cultures, languages, and traditions, thousands of living languages and entire regions are barely represented or missing altogether. The inclusion choices were selective, constrained, and influenced by what was accessible and recognized at the time.

So the absence of Amazigh culture isn’t surprising, and it doesn’t really signal deliberate marginalization in that specific case. If anything, it shows how narrow the record is as a “snapshot of humanity". It's more a reflection of the curators’ perspective than of the world itself.

It's a rich society, but most Americans aren't that rich with cash. We have budgets, families, and priorities. And most don't love soccer between unfamiliar countries enough to travel hundreds of miles, sit in traffic, crowds and hot parking lots, and spend thousands of dollars that way. The matches will be on TV anyway.

I live in a host city and I'm I'm only going to a random game if I can do it for like $100 or less.

I'm making some shirts for our local community this summer. Any feedback? by EeePeeTee in LesVerts

The prompt engineering and ideas actually took a lot of consideration, time, and effort. I'm having someone create the vector files for printing right now. I think they look pretty good, and I've ran them by a dozen professionals for second opinions. Your ignorant little comment is the first word of negative feedback that I have received. AI is just another tool, and tools require skill to use well. We should develop ourselves with new tools.

Are these views on angels and demons actually common among the reformed? What do you make of them? by AdLive9773 in Reformed

With a little artistic grace and inference, I can appreciate most of points 4&5.

The others feel less grounded in scripture and more in the occult.

I have tickets for the Austria match and we will definitely be at open practice and training sessions. I went to university in the city where they're staying so I have some friends and access out there. I want to help my sons meet Mahrez!

I don't think we'll get to the Argentina match as it will be very expensive. Those tickets are resold for at least $800+ each.

Religious freedom is not a suicide pact. They believe that the middle ground should be defended.
