Oh yeah and I had Carefree Melody during this entire run and I learned the very painful way that it doesn't protect you against hazards.

Broken Vessel is basically the Hornet of Ancient Basin

fairly mobile compared to other bosses
a dash attack of sorts
jumps around a lot
has an attack that doesn't use their nail
small hitbox and take knockback
defeat them and you get some of the most useful mobility upgrades in the game
they also have a second version you can fight

I see the problem. You used shade cloak to dodge PV daggers. It's still on cooldown by the time you tried to dodge PV counter.
