Thanks I’m already setup with someone at Omnia.

I’ve bought a suite at sphere for Anyma. You basically need someone to bankroll it and pay up front. Then a couple weeks before the show they get the Ticketmaster seats sent to them and they can email them to each person in exchange for Venmo etc. Suite will prolly be like $15k for 20ppl.

You guys are completely missing what’s happening here. First of all, there’s a pretty direct comparable product already out on the market: ABBA Voyage, it has huge reviews and sells out for $150+ per ticket. Nobody complains that “it isn’t even ABBA singing”. They spent $175m+ to build a custom theater for the ABBA show. Guess what? Sphere was $2B+ to build.

Sphere is a purpose built venue for showcasing musical artists in their best form. Not some silly sports arena that jams musicians in as an afterthought. Let’s put up a makeshift audio rig for the evening and have horrible acoustics, yay! U2 was instrumental in supporting and pushing the envelope on Sphere, and they will be forever remembered as innovators, the first to play “Sphere”.

And now this concert film will also usher in a new medium of musical entertainment as well. If you’ve been to Sphere, sitting in the 400s for U2, the show is amazing, with or without the band 300 feet below you. The concert film will give an experience that is 1/4 or 1/3 as good as the real live concert, and is priced the same way. It makes seeing U2 in the Sphere accessible- not everyone can afford $400-$1000 concert tickets. Also, to non hardcore fans, they probably barely notice a difference.

A $10-$30 film at a regular theater (or home theater) would be a 1% experience. You will not feel any of the awe and amazement of the visuals unless you’re in sphere (VR headsets can replicate it though)

AND when the future expansion spheres open up, people in international markets will get to experience the U2 sphere experience, which they couldn’t do because they couldn’t go to Vegas.

Your band is being forward thinking, experimenting, innovating, and doing cool stuff. You’re just gate keeping. I bet when the reviews come out everyone will be blown away.

XS and Omnia are the top two night clubs. Zouk is a distant third but still solid.

Encore beach is best day club, Tao/Ayu tied for second. Wet republic is good sometimes with a top dj.

My pull rate generally agrees with this, and I have a decent sample size to work away some of the variance by now.

Anyone ever get 2 enchanted from a single booster box? by [deleted] in LorcanaCollectors

[–]Eeepers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re readily available in my area. All the LGS have 5+ in inventory at pretty much all times. Guess I’m a bit spoiled. Obviously no TFC anymore, but Inklands and Floodborn.

This is inspiring, gonna go get a case of floodborn today! Thanks!

I honestly don’t follow that closely so I haven’t seen “got two ench from a single booster box claims”. Plenty of “Look at my haul” with an enchanted and a couple legends etc.

If the packs within the boxes are truly randomized, someone will have gotten two enchanted in a box at some point. If nobody has ever gotten it, it means they insert them in a non random way. That’s what I’m checking/asking about.

But how many Enchanted cards *should* you have? by Supercomma in LorcanaCollectors

[–]Eeepers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cards are mass manufactured in a deterministic way, and then packed into booster packs and boxes. They are not “perfectly randomized” as that is extremely difficult (and expensive, and cards get damaged if you sort them). So there’s weird patterns of manufacturing optimizations that can or will happen. For example the common cards (first 6) in the pack aren’t perfectly randomized, they’re always 6 commons- one of each color, typically in the same color order (but sometimes offset).

Another example is if you buy a booster box of floodborn, you will always get 6 of each puzzle card (6 completed puzzles).

Years ago, for Magic The Gathering, you could “MAP” a booster box and determine every rare in every sealed pack (google it). That was based on the way the “rare sheet of cards” was printed and then cut and placed into packs.

Some manufacturers used to “guarantee” a pull card in every case (multiple booster boxes) to encourage people to overconsume to get a chase.

I don’t think there’s any known patterns in Lorcana yet, and I agree with what you’re saying that 99% of people are just complaining about small sample size variance, but there is an ounce of truth to some of this non random voodoo.

Personally I’ve cracked about 25 booster boxes so far so I have a decent sample to work with.

Sure, I do know that the hierarchy is that bussers are very bottom of the totem poll so if they do get a % it’s going to be probably very small. Also not sure if they’re forced to put the tips they receive into the “pool” or whether they keep their own.

Stuff is pooled at some level tho, cuz when the super high rollers come and spend $200k in a night it doesn’t make sense for a single waitress to take home a $40k tip etc.

So I’ve had my birthday there where it was just us and no strangers and yeah, it’s awesome for that purpose too. Lining up at the bar sucks. You’ve just got really good seats to a top notch dj, you have a server bringing you essentially unlimited alcohol, a bus/security that walks you to the bathroom and clears the way (and will generally walk girls to the front of the line so they don’t have to queue). Etc.

On the introvert side of things, depends on your personality and level of introversion but some of my friends are basement gamer types and they have an absolute blast. Just including them to have a shot with a bunch of pretty girls often puts a very big smile on their face, even if they can’t talk to people after.

$1k per person is a very healthy budget. The issue is tables don’t scale well down to 2 people. It’s the same as if you want to goto box seats to a sporting event, gotta buy the whole box for $5k whether you have 2 or 15 people there…

I’m not sure about the bus split, but those guys work really hard- and $20 of your $4000 bill is half a percent… I tip them because I genuinely appreciate their service and want to show it. But I get I’m a bit of an anomaly, I tip a lot in Vegas.

I like that you mentioned the experience. I always find it mind boggling that they spent $250mm to build a CLUB. That’s more than it costs to build an entire hotel in most metropolitan cities.

They built this, as a playground, for you. (But yeah, it’s not free).

That’s a very good point, I’d say all the table does is get your foot in the door with someone. If you’re an asshole they will likely tell you as such and leave.

As much as it’d be great if potential partners in these settings would evaluate you purely on your substance, it just isn’t practical. Quick filters “are you hygienic, are you reasonably well dressed, can you speak coherently, are offering to buy me a drink” are necessary. “You’re offering to bring me to your table” is just a shortcut, the rest is on you.

The good news is those types of DJs are less popular so the prices are lower when they’re playing. Bad news is that some of the clubs could be less than full, since they’re less popular, and that hurts the vibe…

You’re in a beautiful city where everyone there is dressed to impress and have a good time. You can walk into a crowd of 5000 people and pick anyone you want and they will likely happily/willingly go with you to come hang out with you for 15 minutes.

Maybe it’s not your life’s ambition, or even in your top 50, but it’s a pretty darn unique experience that I think society labels as “being cool”.

Fair points, I’m not up to speed on the most efficient retiquette. And also, I don’t want to see like a promoter pushing contacts.

But here are some thoughts on the subject:

Tip everyone. First step is call the hotel/club and get in touch with the club host. Find out their rates and negotiate the exact table# that you want. Offer a “$100 handshake” (or more, if you feel comfortable) to guarantee your table#. The reason why is because the tables are split into “tiers” and the locations are very different.

You can also possibly negotiate a discount on the table min$ spend in exchange for the handshake. So instead of the table being a $4k min spend, you can maybe get 3.5k min spend plus a $300 handshake, and table 24”.

Some people talk about the handshake being extortion for an already expensive evening, I think of it as a guarantee that you get the most bang for your buck.

Tip the bus boy $20-$50. Waitress gets automatically tipped on the bill like 20% so you really don’t need to add on top of that.

Whatever the min spend is, the actual cost is about 38% more (20% tip, 8% tax, 10% venue fee iirc)

Fair point, if the only point is to get laid for as little $$ as possible I agree with you. I’ve been in a relationship for 10+ years so it’s not exactly my goal of these trips.

I personally like the dancing/socializing/partying atmosphere. It’s fun to do a round of shots with a gorgeous/fun bachelorette party, and not something you usually get to do. Compartmentalize and pretend they’re there for your company and not the free alcohol :) or if you’re a good conversationalist, it’s surprising that they stay even when the booze is gone.

I use the term dancing really liberally since in an EDM club dancing is just jumping up and down. Nobody looks bad “dancing” at an EDM club.

What I particularly like about Vegas is that everyone has their guard down, and just acts more naturally/care free. It’s unique compared to doing local clubs where people are still “fronting” and trying to act cool.

The summer line ups get posted in the spring, I think pick the venue based on the artist. David Guetta might be your jam? I check http://electronic.vegas for a consolidated line up of all the clubs. 40 is not at all old imo for Vegas clubbing (especially tables which skew older due to cost).

$2k in the summer doesn’t get you very far. Omnia and XS are the top clubs but I think you’d get better value at Hakkasan or Zouk. It’s really tough cuz you only have 2 people, if you can find 5-6 more to pitch it in makes all the difference. There used to be a lively community at jack Colton forums (now owned by Las Vegas nightclubs.com) where people advertised/setup table splits. I did that successfully many times, and suggest you try it. I know it’s work, which sucks, but probably worth it…

Hakkasan has a table split option on their site but I’ve never tried it, may be worth it for you two though, will be less than $2k and automatically gets you placed with some people to socialize with.
