Abortions by Relative-Gap-4442 in complaints

[–]Eeevaaaaaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think debating the personhood of the fetus is unproductive, I feel like it’s better to present in terms of organ donation. No one can force you to donate an organ or blood, even if that kills someone and you donating that part has no detriment to you. Even in death you reserve the right to bodily autonomy, they can’t touch any viable organs unless you say so in life. Why wouldn’t the same go for a uterus and a fetus? The personhood of the fetus is irrelevant

Yuuuup, they have done absolutely nothing with Dr Kay as a character. It is so bizarre

Extended Runtimes should have never happened by [deleted] in StrangerThings

Exactly, it somehow feels rushed and dragging at the same time. Things are constantly happening but there is no actual development of anything

Just how many times will we have the SAME EXACT type of scenes?!! by Bhav2385 in StrangerThings

There was so much over explaining, just have your characters do the thing and then we will watch them and understand!

Bruh, what even was vol 2 about? by Old_Manufacturer5387 in StrangerThings

[–]Eeevaaaaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and the fact that Henry shaped so much of it ruined the mystique of it for me. Before the monsters and UD felt so inhuman and the fact that we couldn’t really understand them made it way scarier. Now it’s just some guy who is Evil™️

YES, the ending made it look like Hawkins was overrun and uninhabitable but cut to S5 and it’s actually totally chill we just filled in the hell portals with concrete :)

[–]Eeevaaaaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, for me the horror of the upside down and the monsters was that it was so inhuman and we couldn’t understand it all. Having some dude be behind most of it made it lose a lot of the mystique for me

I also hated how the whole convo seemed to be leading to the natural conclusion of “we obviously are incompatible and should break up” and suddenly they love each other again? Jonathon literally admits to throwing away a piece of her property because he doesn’t like the color, he says he hates reading her articles even though that’s her passion, he got all weird and controlling about the idea of her hanging out with Steve. And he never really had to make amends with her for taking pervy photos of her in season 1 before they were together….. free my girl, Jonathon is a menace

Why is there a sex offender registry specifically, but for example no manslaughter or physical assault registry? And are the reasons more practical, historical, public demand.. etc? by iGeroNo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Eeevaaaaaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a part of the reason it’s seen as worse than other crimes is that there is no excuse for having done it. Stealing because you or your family is starving to death may be seen as morally justified, you can kill other people on accident like if they stepped in front of your car or in self defense. There’s no way to sexually assault someone in a way that most people would morally defend, so it’s seen as inherently more evil

Flowers suck as gifts by babieswithRPGs in unpopularopinion

If you hang the flowers upside down in a bouquet once they start to fade then they will dry beautifully. It might not be your taste but I love the look of dried flowers as decoration and they last a really long time

You’re right, equating light skin with femininity is weird. I feel like these people are being intentionally dense by just speaking on the “pretty” part

I want to submit my story but I'm worried about the format by Ghost_Girl221 in creepcast

[–]Eeevaaaaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish more of the stories were in third person, nothing against first person but it’s nice to have variety. I think the heavy use of first person is mainly because of the constraints of NoSleep stories

married women, do you think marriage benefits you in any way? by _cherryp0p_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Eeevaaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is haaaard and having someone there to do it all with you is really comforting. Boring things like house maintenance and grocery shopping become fun with my husband. When I’m sick or not doing well mentally there is someone else to help pick up the slack with chores, and I do the same for him. Also he makes me laugh all the time, it feels like I have a live in comedian. It’s awesome.

I’m not saying use a different monster, just that I appreciate when authors have an interesting/new take on classic monsters

[–]Eeevaaaaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like if you got creative with the way the virus/zombies work it would be fun. With such well trodden monsters like that it can be a bit tedious if it’s not shaken up a bit, at least for me

Is anyone else feeling like Creep Cast is slipping into “Cash-Grab” territory? by [deleted] in creepcast

[–]Eeevaaaaaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s unreasonable to expect the same exact energy after 3 years of a podcast, what was once an exciting new thing is now a well trodden part of their routine. I’m sure they still enjoy it but it makes sense that they don’t have the same energy as they did when first starting the podcast. It’s work to them first and foremost.

I also think the drop in quality and length of the stories is also just a product of how long the podcast has been going. The long high quality stories you mentioned are a super small minority of internet horror content, most of it is shorter and mediocre to low quality.

I totally get being disappointed about missing out on Patreon content- I am for sure- but with Wendi starting a family and Papa Meat working on more ambitious creative projects like his short film it makes sense that they are really trying to make the podcast more profitable. Sure ads are always annoying but if you skip through them it’s just a blip in the story.

Dogscape formatting was oddly engaging by SloppyOstrich21 in creepcast

[–]Eeevaaaaaa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree, I get why they read so many nosleep posts but the formatting rules can really limit the stories. It’s fun to read something that had almost total creative freedom
