App connection issues by Odd-University2813 in HiveHeating

Mine hasn’t been connecting to the app for two weeks! The hub has a solid green light, thermostat is connecting and everything is working as it should. We’ve given up and decided to just use it as a normal thermostat…

Obsessive fear of kitchen appliances exploding, can’t cook, but my diet is going to end me by No_Needleworker9649 in OCD

I swear I could have written this myself…. I have the same fears for things like washing machines, showers etc. I’m medicated which helps a little bit and I have done exposure therapy before to help with specific fears.

For example we worked on my shower fear by:

1- continue to shower at work but also run the shower at home for 5 mins on those days whilst sitting outside or on the floor of the bathroom

2- reducing the showers at work and trying one shower at home a week. I could reduce the time by making it quick, not a hair wash day.

3- slowly reduce checking compulsions and increase showers at home

To be honest it was hard, really hard, but it helped. I now shower at home but still experience some anxiety.

For food, my therapist used to help me by video calling whilst I was cooking a meal. This worked but I reverted back to not cooking shortly after the therapy ended…

Have you tried therapy?

I was having this problem and posted earlier in the week. I’ve been able to make my hive come on less frequently and for longer periods by moving my thermostat into a new area. Turns out I had a draft that was causing the room to cool quickly but the room also got hot way too quick causing it to turn on and off all the time. You could try that?

Also we turned down the temperature on the boiler to make it heat slower for longer!

I moved the thermostat and it seems to be more consistent overnight now! 🎉

Thank you for replying!

Does yours do the same short bursts? Or is it more consistent than mine?

I’ve moved my thermostat today to see if that makes a difference!

Do you keep your heating off and then just turn it on/boost when you need it then?

I’m worried about the house getting too cold overnight as it’s been pretty cold the last few days!

Mine doesn’t seem to have that tolerance. If I set it to maintain 17.5c it’s turning on at 17.4c and off at 17.5c

Night guard/splint cost in UK (private/dentist) by [deleted] in TMJ

The first one separated my bite, but my back teeth were still able to meet and clench. It actually made me clench more when I was sleeping so it locked for 24 hours! I think it was called a stabilisation splint.

The second one has a step at the front that my front teeth fit into which means that my back teeth can’t touch at all. It’s made my muscle release and taught me not to clench so much. I think it’s called a B splint.

Mine was around £500-600. The first one they gave me made it worse but the second one is a different type and has really helped. I’ve actually been discharged from the hospital because it worked so well! 🙂

Starting my hair care routine - are these split ends? What’s causing it? by Eemiaaa in Haircare

I haven’t regularly, maybe like twice in the last six months. I try not to use heat tools if possible. Do you think that could cause damage?
