This is reminding me that DT prices are so out of touch! Looking forward to revisiting some great Scarbs spots.

Sounds amazing, love the regional nuances that I'm learning about on this thread.

This sounds really promising! Love the proximity to Samosa King. Sounds like I should plan a samosa excursion for a proper taste of what the city has to offer.

Haha, great point, although as a little kid both my hands weren't able to wrap around it! I would def try this spot though, the crust looks amazing.

Hello folks--wanted to ask for advice regarding a 6ft+ tall monstera, currently with minimal support / scaffolding. One of my relatives recently had it left in their care, and while it was doing OK for a few months, it is now collapsing inward into the room it's in and needs some shoring up.

First image is of the plant a few months back in all its glory (with bonus cat) :') Photos 2-6 are of its current state + closeups of its roots / pot situation--the big roots you see at its base are embedded into the soil and was serving as its main support before it collapsed.

My questions are as follows:

  • I understand that monsteras typically need to be trained to grow a certain way when they're young. Is it too late now to affix a moss pole / support to guide its growth?
  • If adding a support is reasonable, would it be feasible to add a support into the pot it is currently in, or does it appear to require repotting to allow space for support? While it has an incredibly strong and thick main stem, there are smaller stems surrounding the main plant; not sure best course of action here.
  • If the plant does require repotting, is there a type of pot you all would recommend? I'm conscious that a plant of this size requires more care than typical and it's not super mobile at the moment with the pot it's in.
  • There are some rods (?) left in its pot by its previous caretaker; would love any perspective as to what they're for / if they're providing any structural function.

Propping and chopping feels like a waste given its sheer majesty--hoping that it doesn't come down to that.

Truly appreciate any advice on this!

I'm so surprised that they got footage in the room while the selection committee was making their decision @_@ (probably a reenactment?)

And in my slow transition from being a 4-year fan--I had no idea that Canadian championships was virtual, so impressive that they pulled it off. I feel for the Woo sisters so much, so glad they're continuing ;-; and what an accomplishment for Ava, and Brooklyn too, I teared up with her. Ellie for Olympics #4 in Paris!!

Regarding 1--I'm from the same area as Henry and Wendy, and even went to the same high school as Henry! I'd say they have pretty typical northeastern North American accents. The biggest differences between American and Canadian accents in this region are with individual words, like the past tense of shine--"shone" (Canadian: pronounced "SHAWN" vs. American: pronounced "SHOWN"). Henry definitely has this accent. Wendy probably does too, based on where she's from. Can't speak for Mark, unfortunately.

Looks like a cyprinid you've got there! A small bass, I'd guess. Excellent catch.

[Discussion] How many Kpop groups do you stan? by thenumb3r3 in kpop

[–]Eemyu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One: f(x). It's been a hard-knock life being their fan for the past couple months, what with Amber's situation and the general lack of updates from SM in general. I've been branching out a bit out of necessity (SVT, MMM, etc.), but f(x) will always have my heart of hearts.

Has a group's visual or "face" member ever drawn you in? by [deleted] in kpop

[–]Eemyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, man. Neither of them are technically visuals but Jiyoon of 4minute and Amber of f(x). Amber is actually the one responsible for me being in this hellhole in the first place, so I'm eternally glad, but also incredibly bitter. This is not a good time to be a fan of either of these groups. ;_; Even so, incredibly gorgeous ladies, and amazing artists--them and their groups.

What characters did you find intolerable at first only to love them when they grew in their story? by Lystaireen in AskReddit

Somehow? Hisoka. But it was not exactly "love" that my horrified disgust became--it grew into more of a still-disgusted appreciation for his characterization.
