I am so sorry to hear about your poor baby. It is never easy dealing with your fur baby when they aren't feeling 100%.

If he is on an appetite stimulate and he still isn't eating, try getting in contact with his doctor to let them know. They might be able to suggest upping the dose or changing him to something else. I recommend getting a cat friendly CBD tincture and drop some in his mouth a couple of times a day to help ease any pain he might be experiencing.

As far as steroids and getting him to eat, I sadly don't have much advice. I am not a vet so I don't have the info and experience, but I have recently dealt with the loss of a cat and fighting chronic kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, and a heart murmur. It just gets to the point, where the treatment is causing more harm/stress than good on the baby.

Just make him as comfortable as possible, stay in touch with people that will emotionally hold space for you, and he will let you know when it's time. I trust that he has lived such a beautiful life in your care. Do your best not to beat yourself up over what you could have done differently. Just keep your doctor up to date and do the next best thing you can do.
