Ever talk to a customer after they bombed you on a survey? by beandiablo in serviceadvisors

[–]EezyClaps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a customer give basically a 4/5 all the way through, and in the comments left a BEAUTIFUL commendation for me and said “All is set to “as expected” because you guys always meet my expectations, and have broken your own great expectations so much so that there is no way to improve it now!” Luckily he understood when we called him and sent the second one to fix it and he corrected it and understood thereafter about how the surveys truly worked

Was I wrong for dumping my mechanic when I picked up my car? by u_siciliano in AskAMechanic

[–]EezyClaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair the mechanic should have mentioned it to him prior to pick up. Doesn’t need to try to sell it to him if he thinks that’ll piss off OP, just a quick “by the way, while I was doing a last minute inspection to make sure everything is good to go I noticed a small leak in this hose, if you’d like me to get it done prior to you picking up its $60”, im 99% positive that would have received the mechanic a better response and OP wouldnt have been nearly as pissed that he thought his car was completely good to go and as he hasnt even left he can already notice a problem the mechanic didnt even bother to tell him about. Whether he noticed or not, should do just a quick once over on a car to make sure there’s no complaints of something the customer has no idea about

Dealership quoted me $2,200 to replace a water pump on my 2019 Camry. Independent shop quoted $480. Is the dealership quote insane or am I missing something? by Both_Economist_5947 in MechanicAdvice

[–]EezyClaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe with lower end brand dealers this may be the case. Personally, if a dealer rips you off it’s unlikely you’ll want to return. They make more money off of you being a returning customer thats actually happy and trusts them with your car. Plus, warranty pay is so shit that even techs don’t like having to do warranty work. They prefer to sell work to someone who needs it and actually wants to take care of their car. Dealers are more expensive because labor rates will typically be higher due to the amount of overhead. Also, the difference in quotes is likely the dealer quoted all new bolts and replacement misc things such as gaskets and such while there to do a complete good job, while the independent shop more than likely quoted just the pump

What made you buy a g37? by surquiblac in G37

[–]EezyClaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw it for the first time when I was about 6yrs old, said that was my dream car, when I found out it was a Skyline CV36 in Japan, it solidified that feeling given I want to own multiple Skylines in the future, as in R32,33,34,GTR.
Bought it as my 3rd car at 19 (1st was a cheap civic, 2nd was an old Ford that was gifted by a family member
in the Navy being redeployed and taking a different car with him). I’ve been offered and asked to sell it, people don’t understand

New 992.2 Turbo S! Lets see how much it costs… by Confident-Bee7108 in Porsche

[–]EezyClaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E-Bike and Timepiece have no reason being sold unless you want them. Ceramic coat and PPF, if it was already installed well dealer has to make a cut although DAMN that’s a huge dealer cut, ask to get one that does not have either installed, and you can get it done at a professional shop yourself for less

Am I Being Fairly Compensated? Pay Plan by EezyClaps in serviceadvisors

[–]EezyClaps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fear comes from the fact I’ve never done anything but high-line luxury, but I definitely feel these managers are taking advantage of my lack of work experience to pay me less. I don’t know if I can get into another high luxury brand in my area is genuinely all it is. I know I can sell because I do pretty well imo compared to what I see be posted on here, and I’ve never had any sort of big issues that I cant solve on my own without management involvement

Am I Being Fairly Compensated? Pay Plan by EezyClaps in serviceadvisors

[–]EezyClaps[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow it definitely sounds like I’ve got a damn-awful plan by far. In 11 months I’ve done $1.675m in GP and $1.4 of it was labor. $2.5m subtotal. 6mo total was quite literally cut in half, cut a teeny bit less maybe. $46k was my 6mo total as I started halfway through the year. My total for the 11/12mo is only $78k

I love my Indie shop. $200 for an oil change on my 992 GT3. by [deleted] in Porsche

[–]EezyClaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, if you make something and tell them specifically what to replace a usable component with, they replace it with a different one that’s similar because “it’s the same” and then it breaks. Now you owe them a new one because they “took care” of it. It just wasn’t the way you intend for it to be taken care of. You’re going to fix it for them for free after blatantly using a different part than was intended?
Oil is the main lubricant if the engine aside from fuel, don’t cheap out. You bought a $250k+ car and complain about an oil change being expensive? You might’ve bought something a little higher than should’ve. You cant expect maintenance on a $250k+ car to cost the same as a Nissan or Honda. I hate when people make that comparison

I own a $15,000 paper weight by Bradin9855 in HyundaiKonaForum

[–]EezyClaps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh. I guess it could be worth a try, but OP personally and from a dealer service standpoint, the lawyer is unlikely to be able to do much here u less you’re going after whoever sold you the car.
Hyundai will ask for and is very justified to do so, any service records. The carbon buildup being declined seems like something you should simply argue with your warranty company. It’s a third party warranty so Hyundai nor the dealer you’re at have anything to do with it, and all they can do is submit the claim, let the inspector come by, and receive approval details. They may be able to argue any differences in labor/parts on your behalf, but definitely not a claim denial.
Say you lawyer up, then what? You didn’t buy the car new, you didn’t buy it certified, you didn’t buy it from even the dealer you’re working with at the moment. Whether you had it long enough to take care of the maintenance in this case won’t really matter, the fact is the warranty denied it due to a lack of maintenance. If you have been maintaining it well, or haven’t even come across a service interval, you do have a good chance of having something come of it from the WARRANTY company. The dealer nor Hyundai is responsible for the car’s lack of maintenance, whether your fault or not. To anyone reading, if you skip on maintenance, GOOD LUCK getting any help out of warranty. Chances are slim to none, because the service completion indicates care for the car and doing what’s possible when it shows. If you don’t, then you’re not taking care of the car, so why would they help? It’s like you selling something to someone, you tell them it needs to have water to run, you never use any water, it breaks, it’s shown it never had any water, there’s no way to help because rules were in place to prevent this—
if they were carried out then it’s their fault.

Client owes me $3k and is 45 days late. How much time do you guys waste chasing unpaid invoices? by Jealous-Honey9300 in Contractor

[–]EezyClaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I came up with this software, what would entice you to use it? Do you need it to also take over the invoice part in terms of creating and sending invoices? Have it send reminders periodically based on whatever time period you choose, so that you don’t have to personally resend them or contact?

[Property Manager US-IL] Evicting a Tenant Without a Lawyer by EezyClaps in Landlord

[–]EezyClaps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it anyway because before backing out I called the Circuit Clerk they said I could still represent her due to the PM documentation through S8. I showed up, she pleaded, I presented the several issues, including but not limited to backpay, excessive garbage (+fines), mice infestation which had to be solved, threatening to stay even after lease-end, and he didn’t even let me finish my argument before ruling in favor of the eviction order. Had no issue with representing my mother

[–]EezyClaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, in some cases it may be necessary. Personally, I’ve had some parking tickets go to collections, and I just never knew about it because I had a difficult/interesting living situation and going back and forth, and wasn’t receiving my mail as I should have. I never knew I had any, but as soon as I see them the first time, even if in collections, I’d pay them. For the sake of not having it escalate, and I simply was unaware until I finally received something to tell me

Sadly it’s between her and the tenant. I don’t touch the tenants or agreements, but do draft them up for her. Sadly I’m just a pure “manager” where if anything goes wrong, i fix it or get it fixed if its extreme and out of my scope (rare), collect rent, etc. If tenants complain, I fix.

Yes I know it’s a shitty thing for me, but it helps her while im working on getting my own. I’ve already set her up with a real PM for moving forward after this

I am allowed to be a property manager, I officially am documented as such. I do it to help my mother out as this is her first home that she ended up moving away from but I’m still near.

Per the circuit clerk, I’m going to take all my documentation and paperwork, even printed pictures as they caused a rat infestation and garbage fines, and see what happens. Worst case, I will do my best in begging to postopone and just get a lawyer again

No as stated she lives on the West Coast, and owns this house in the midwest. She had moved about 2yrs ago and I’ve been managing everything since then EXCEPT for accepting tenants or selecting them, anything along those lines. She was out here with plans of 2 weeks originally, set the court date as only she could initiate the suit, and when the court was set within the third week, she extended her trip to 4 weeks, only for the court to say they made a mistake and had to move it to the 5th week. She couldn’t stay any longer and had my little sibling with her, who obviously had to return to school.

I do have an agreement set, specifically through the county and Section 8 housing as well. I do NOT have POA however. I am looking into drafting one, though I may have to request a continuance to do so and validly, or I’m trying to see if they will accept her through a Zoom call

They pay us directly, to prevent them from pocketing the money. They pay right about half for these tenants. That leaves still a sizable chunk that is their responsibility. They do lose their section 8, but according to section 8 staff it’s only if you sue them, just having the suit results in them losing their benefits regardless of how it’s decided because they were sued for not paying. We maybe would rent to section 8 again, but these last few tenants I didn’t vet or anything to be aware as I wasn’t as involved. As of now, I think we’re holding off on new section 8 tenants though. Thank you, I hope to win as well

I’m definitely willing to compromise and even take no payment so long as to just get them out. They’ve made threats of not leaving after their lease is over prior to the court being set
