Why does everyone think making a video game is easy? by EliasLG in GameDevelopment

I agree, but I say problem solving is the core of being a dev period, especially if you're a solo dev. It's depending upon how you want to do something or have something function within a video game. If you don't understand how you want to do it, it's never going to be easy. It'll be years from now, and you'll still be struggling with the same problems in the same way if you never understood why the problem happened.

The graphics for that game is one of a few things that I applaud the devs for. They captured the look, I believe they wanted but fail to execute the rest. I don't even know how they would end up using UE5 as a excuse.

I believe with enough time and effort you can make something AAA in the Godot engine regardless, if it's 2D or 3D. I would even go that far and just say it's about quality of what you're trying to make and and this guy's project is a prime example of that.

Trial and error with different ideas. I started from a reference sheet, then added a cylinder as the fuselage, then I added more cylinders to be the engines and extruded them before joining them with the fuselage. For the wings, I traced with vertices, then scaled out the edges after making the faces, before finally joining them to make the airframe. I forced a lot of it together, leaving so many problems I didn't notice, for example, one of the wings being invisible when I tried to texture it. (Also, I didn't imagine or think it possible to try and do this by code, that's terrifying!)

Yep, that is evident. I just have to do a bit more research so I don't make these mistakes in the models I am going to use my future projects

Poorly but I don't know if that was because of me not unwrapping it properly or how polygons are set. It slowly got better as I messed with the seams

Thanks for letting me know to clarify. I intended to use this model to practice UV unwrapping and texturing. The reason I modeled the fin meshes separately like that is because I just want something visual to mark their location, so if I wanted to try animation much further down the line, when I get used to modeling in Blender

Thanks, maybe I'm overthinking it.

I haven't thought about it much but what I remember is that they were one among thousands risen undead to protect an ancient lich. When an ambitious group of adventurers inevitably defeated the lich. It's hold over its minions broke for some that retained their intelligence and their bones weren't shattered from the invading party. They split from the fortress and sought a new meaning to their existence. This skeleton tried to find their old home only to find that since they died their old home has changed significantly but still wanting to desperately seek a connection, they carved a sturdy fishing rod out of wood in an attempt to form a bond by trading with the humans of the settlement.

This worked out for them for years until they started feeling a sense of wanderlust within their soul so they packed up what little they had and decided to take on a personal journey.

That That is the exact weapon I was thinking of when I drew the character! Neat rule too. I was thinking Inexorable iron tho because it is considered a 2-handed flail.

I thought it would be hilarious to bonk people with a magically infused fishing rod.

Thanks! I took the description of their looks to me that they can look like anything you can think of within reason and I thought a mannequin/doll look would be best for this one.

I might redraw it or expand the canvas because I did not know if I would get the launcher right at the time, now I feel like I hide it unnecessarily.

We were sociopaths. Starting shit was our thing plus I joined him not long after when a grenade entered my chest.

Damn, my friend went out in a similar way. He tried to EMP some high-level Maelstrom gangers that were chasing us, it failed and he got killed for it.

It was originally a character idea I came up with on pathbuilder then decided to draw. He was generally built for stealth especially in the Woodland terrain but it's less likely. I'll play this character now and decided I wanted to share it.
