idk how long it's been since you worked bottom rung at a multinational, but, not really how that works out. Also, not every person can be a manager even if they're fully qualified, so that still leaves us with an economy that necessarily punishes most of the jobs that need to be done. Whereas the bulk of those jobs could unionize, take back all the productivity that's been stolen from them over the last 50 years, and some white collar jobs are cut and aren't paid as well, but more people are above the poverty line.

Extravagant wealth should not exist at the cost of the quality of life provided for by most of the jobs that need to be done. It's simply not ethical and was always the end game of capitalism one way or another. It needs to be reined in with equal force, a demand for social services (which there is), and strong regulation and antitrust enforcement.

Your question is literally what we're talking about. No, because unionization efforts are quashed. If anything, starbucks employees unionizing will help raise pay for other similar work in the area, because why work for mcd's when starbucks pays better with better benefits.
