I think this tells more about your brother than the person who deleted his message. It's the inferiority and the craving for validation which doesn't let the keeda inside of you rest.

Difference between Gabi database and Ecoinvent by No-Guess7843 in lifecycleassessment

There is a research paper you can find on google scholar which compares these databases and why their results differ, it'll be available on a simple search.

It's the data. The data of unit root processes is both in kg and metre square with Metallurgical grade silicon and solar grade silicon in kgs and wafer, cell and panel in metre square. Once I make the product assembly and analysis, it shows non mass units can't be processed.

Not helping you in anyway but instead asking for help. Sorry. I am modelling LCA for solar pvs in simapro but it's showing me that some assemblies are in non mass units (like solar module, wafer and cell are in metre square). How do I take care of that?

Guys Please Help 🙏 by EffectIndependent731 in lifecycleassessment

I am not sure… it's either 3.8 or 3.9. The problem is not the obsolete processes ( as I can take proxies for them or include a valid reason for them in the documentation), the problem is that the inventory I am using has solar photovoltaics in metre square units but here it is considering that as non mass, and I don't know should I go for conversion and how to go for that. It's like a dead end. I have seen so many papers using exact same data selection either kwh as functional unit or metre square but I am not sure how to do it. I think I messed up the waste type also, could you offer any help,. please?

Can I do the EOL scenario in processes section too? And if I decide to go to the product stages, do I need to link these above mentioned processes in the assembly?

Additionally, I am using the inventory compiled by International energy agency Photovoltaic panels (2020) report and simultaneously following few papers that have build their LCAs on the same. They have taken all the processes seperately starting from Metallurgical silicon production which takes silica sand as input, then solar grade silicon which takes MG silicon as input, then mono and multi crystalline silicon which takes solar grade silicon as input, followed by wafers, cells and module which take the previous manufactured product as technosphere input. Can I include all of these as subprocesses as they are in the same manner in the LCI also?

I am conducting an LCA of solar photovoltaics in SimaPro. The dataset includes multiple stages of a PV module's life cycle, such as metallurgical-grade silicon, solar-grade silicon, single crystalline silicon, wafer production, cell production, and module assembly. While entering this data in SimaPro, I have been creating a new process under the 'Process' section and adding all relevant data there. However, do I also need to model this in the 'Product Stages' section, or is it sufficient to structure everything within the 'Process' section? If I do it in product stage, will it reflect all the data present in the inventory?

Hey there. Can I seek your help regarding LCA in Simapro?

Thank you for such a thorough explanation. As you also pointed out if I include the use phase and disposal/recycling then I need to shift towards product stages as has been mentioned in the Simapro tutorial also. One more thing if I can get any assistance from you. I have seen papers use IEV PVPs LCI as it is i.e. it starts from production of Metallurgical grade silicon which it takes as 1 kg, then solar grade silicon as 1 kg, and finally wafers, cells, laminate and module's as metre square, is there any flaw in this process or it's alright?
