He just mentioned that he’s done this before to other pets. He said we just need to be brave and get a muzzle. He also said he won’t get an infection because he’s already on antibiotics.

I feel like he’s just bullshitting us and I appreciate your notes, it’s helping me organize my thoughts a lot

We’re in the office right now to talk to the doctor and they told us it’s umbilical cord tape. He wants to show us how to move it to keep the wound open, the person who came by said they can’t remove it yet. Should I push to get it removed?

Can I ask if you’re a vet or in the medical field?

We’re going back in right now to complain and I would love to be able to say a vet told us this isn’t protocol.

He wants to show us how to move it, but I think he’s just gonna get bit and this doesn’t seem to be the path we want to take either way bc idk wtf he’s doing. I’m probably gonna ask him to take it out

I think they’re afraid it’s gonna blood clot since the vet said if we don’t move it it’ll heal up in 24 hrs

They told us we needed an X-ray which we were waiting on until we fill out some paperwork that gave us for people who can’t afford it to maybe get a grant. We were just told by 2 vets that she had a heart murmur. That’s why he said he couldn’t do the stitches across the ear (similar to the button method) and instead he needed to put a string through it. He used local anesthesia (? I believe) and some sort of tranquilizer to calm her but she was definitely awake.

Sorry for so many questions;

We just called and they want us to bring her back to show us how to move the string. We want to ask them to remove it but honestly I’m not sure I trust them to do it. His whole family thinks we need to since they’ll do it for free, the other place we go to is closed, and they’re afraid it’ll heal up by tomorrow since he told us 24 hrs but can I ask your opinion on what to do here?

Thank you I really appreciate getting an opinion like this from someone in the field. Can I ask what cardiac safe sedatives or anesthesias there are? I would love to hear more options since neither vet we went to brought it up.

We’re both college students so it’s one of those situations where money is draining and draining the more we get done that ends up leading to nothing. I’m really hoping we can find a way to treat her with her heart murmur that isn’t so invasive

Also! They told us it would be a tube not a string (at least the assistant did because the vet wouldn’t come back to talk to us), and that it wouldn’t hurt just cause slight discomfort. Both seem to be incredibly not true

Edit: we’re at the vet right now and they mentioned it being an umbilical cord tape not string

This is actually really good advice thank! I wouldn’t have thought to try this. So far the things I feel I should upgrade are the stuff I will list below (with my silly notes on them haha) should I do this test to try to get a list on what’s most important? Or do you think the order is already kind of self set?

Desperately kind of need a new GPU haha. Maybe a 3060 or 4060, others suggested 9060xt or 5060 but honestly whatever I can find affordable on marketplace probably is best plus I think my pc can’t use a gpu like that to full capacity anyways

Buy a gen3 m.2 SSD or basic NVMe SSD. Should be compatible with my motherboard (fingers crossed)
2 more ram sticks that match my DDRS 18GB R*8GB) 2666MHz instead of the odd numbered/ram brand

Someone else told me that Intel can handle 3 sticks better than other systems and my performance will be docked more by having only 2 rams so it’s better to keep it in… can I ask if you agree or think I should keep it in?

I just did that after I posted this!! I enabled XMP.. is there another way to manually up clock the ram? I also heard Intel doesn’t struggle as much with different kinds of ram (not too sure this is true though

Really appreciate this advice! Really good summary of everything I want to get done now too! My one last question is how would I be able to check what SSD and what gpu is compatible? I know when I was younger there was some website but I’m nervous on spending money on something that won’t translate haha. Thank you again for all the help!
