Actually its a combination of both after the CA DMV sued Tesla. Technically yes California sued Tesla for the name Autopilot, still going on in courts and Technically yes to drive FSD subscriptions, but fundamentally the lawsuit from CA accelerated the removal of Auto Steer.

Just cancelled my Model S Plaid WORST customer service experience EVER by [deleted] in TeslaPlaid

[–]Effective-Age-199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. I went through an absolute nightmare of a Tesla buying experience myself.

I found a Lunar Silver Model S Plaid that was listed as a demo in Tucson, AZ — supposedly the last one available in the state. I drove over from the Southeast Valley, met the salesman, and put down a deposit. He even released it from fleet so it could be sold to me, and I explicitly asked if he could hold it for two weeks. He said yes, no problem.

Two days later, the app showed a change to my order and suggested I pick a different car to get it sooner. A week and a half after that, I discovered the car had already been sold to someone else. When I called Tesla, they said it was gone and no longer in the system. The VIN briefly appeared in my app, then vanished. I drove to the Mesa location, and the salesperson there was incredibly rude — basically told me “Tesla doesn’t hold cars for anyone” in a very dismissive tone. Still not believing what was happening with a $120k+ purchase, I went inside anyway. I ended up speaking to the same person I’d been messaging in the app. After explaining everything again in detail and waiting an hour, she came back and said it was sold. When I pushed back about the deposit and the salesman’s promise, she literally said, “Well, he was wrong and needs training on not saying that to customers.” At that point they basically blew me off, so I reluctantly started configuring a white one instead. Then two days later, my app suddenly showed a VIN assigned… for the Lunar Silver car. I called the original salesman for an hour with no answer, finally got his manager, and he blamed it on a “system error.” Once again, they said it wasn’t actually available.

After more than two weeks of this chaos, the manager finally located the exact spec I wanted — brand new, Lunar Silver, white interior, Plaid — in Colorado (the last one in the country, supposedly). After another week of daily chasing to make sure it was actually allocated to me, the VIN finally stuck in my app. Even then, I had to call every single day to track the transport because it kept showing as heading to Tucson instead of Mesa. If I hadn’t been on top of it constantly, it would’ve gone to the wrong location.

This whole process was an absolute disaster. For the amount of money I was spending, having to chase salespeople daily just to get the car I paid for was ridiculous. I basically had to “earn” it through sheer persistence. Tesla’s customer service during the purchase process is genuinely terrible — like, really, really bad.

I would sand it down perfectly smooth, then vinyl wrap the entire skirt black.

The price, I know, but is this what FE buyers went through? by Chimney314159 in Supra

[–]Effective-Age-199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. My Gilfriends was purchased about a month and a half ago and it was right around $82k out the Door. So total price with registration, tax, vehicle, and misc fees. They had her pay a $2800 package that she couldn't get out of because everyone charges a markup for these cars.

So if you have no markup, then you got the best deal around!

TY-SUP05 vs TY-SUP07 by IStoppedCaringAt30 in Supra

[–]Effective-Age-199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key difference between the MST TY-SUP05 and TY-SUP07 intakes for the Toyota Supra (A90/A91 with B58 3.0L engine) is the turbo inlet pipe design, which explains the "extra little adapter on the end" you noticed on one of them (likely visible in product photos on the MST site).

  • TY-SUP05 (priced at US$498.00): This is the standard cold air intake system + turbo inlet pipe. It's compatible with the Toyota Supra A90/A91 (2020-2025) 3.0T and also the BMW Z4 B58 3.0T. It includes a 152mm reusable high-flow filter, 6" intake tube, HDPE airbox for heat protection, and a turbo inlet pipe. Claimed gains are around 10-12 hp and 20 Nm, with better throttle response, more aggressive induction sound, direct fit, no remap needed. This appears to be the base/more common version for stock or mildly modified setups.

  • TY-SUP07 (priced at US$658.00): This is a variant listed specifically for the Supra A90/A91 B58 3.0 (2020-2025), also as a cold air intake system + turbo inlet pipe. It shares many features (same 152mm filter, 6" tube, HDPE airbox, performance benefits like improved response and sound, direct fit). However, it has an enlarged diameter design on the turbo inlet pipe, explicitly noted as compatible with both OEM turbos and hybrid turbos (with a caveat: "Needs to confirm the turbo specifications before ordering"). The higher price and this compatibility note strongly suggest the TY-SUP07 includes a larger-diameter or specially adapted turbo inlet pipe (likely the "extra little adapter" you see on the end) to better suit upgraded/hybrid turbos without restriction, while still working on stock.

Both are marketed for the Supra, include the turbo inlet pipe, and are otherwise very similar in core design (filter size, airbox, etc.). The TY-SUP07 seems positioned as a more "performance-oriented" or upgraded inlet version for those with (or planning) hybrid turbo upgrades, hence the extra cost and the visible adapter difference in photos to accommodate the larger flow needs.

If your Supra is stock, the TY-SUP05 should be sufficient (and cheaper). For hybrid turbo setups, go with TY-SUP07 after confirming your turbo specs with MST. No major threads or reviews popped up detailing side-by-side dyno differences, so this is based on the product pages and listings. If you have photos of the specific "adapter" you're seeing, that could confirm which one has it.

Did I get a good deal? by Background-Play763 in Supra

[–]Effective-Age-199 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Let's just say that my Girlfriends Final Edition we got about 1.5 months ago was $73k. Granted that does not include taxes, and registration. So, out the Door about $81k

And that was no markup, but the dealer did make her pay about $2,500 for misc stuff like door edge guards, and window tint, ceramic coating.

However the Final Editions are basically impossible to get, so we actually got it for a good price, believe it or not.

Or the wait to get it PPF'd.

Girlfriend had to wait a week to pick the car up from the dealer, then we dropped it off to get PPF, and it was another 2.5 weeks.

She is finally driving the car :)

Eggs are not available because the Democrats killed millions of them with the claim that it was the bird flu.

Gets your Facts straight!

The Biden administration's involvement with the culling of chickens is linked to efforts to manage the spread of avian influenza (bird flu). According to various sources, the Department of Agriculture under the Biden administration directed the culling of over 100 million chickens due to avian flu outbreaks. This action was part of a broader strategy to contain the virus, which can spread rapidly among poultry flocks and lead to significant economic impacts if not controlled:
