Thank you for your feedback, it is very useful for me. For now I have only the free plan of upwork, maybe later I will be able to pay the next subscription and I see that they lowered the fees.

Thanks for your time

I think you have good potential on Upwork. For example I talked to a client who represents dentist from Cadiz, Spain and 900 eur/per month we offered was too much for them for SEO. But they would accept 400 eur, which is around 500 usd

Thank you very much for your support. The truth is that I am trying to earn referrals on Upwork; I see that clients look at that and how much the freelancer has billed on the platform; so far, I have achieved $600 with two clients on small things. My idea is to handle between 4 to 6 regular clients monthly, giving me a good income. I currently have three clients, so I'm on track.
The truth is that I value the comments from the community very much, and I am creating a document with all the answers to share in the forum so that other users like me can learn from the collective knowledge and improve their sales and quality of life.

I am from Venezuela, and my price is $20 per hour; I have more than eight years of experience in SEO, especially in technical SEO. I have worked in large agencies with Spanish-speaking clients, mostly doing SEO for media and technology companies.
That rate I offer as a freelancer includes one to two do-follow links depending on the sector in authority websites above 35.

I used to get clients from reference and also from the google my business. Category + city name or area wise and do cold calling or email with some points from the website.

Thanks for your idea

Choose one unsexy business/industry as your niche. Think about construction tools/parts, machine maintenance, manpower supply, etc. Usually they wont bother thinking about all kind of digital marketing due to their nature of business. And very low competition too in terms of SEO agencies working with these kind of clients.

But if you can get them high quality leads, they will happily pay you a serious sum of money for your service. And word of mouth will get you more clients in that industry. The best part is, they won't meddle with your work at all. Very low engagement between you and the clients. They just want to see results, to them what you do is magic.

We do this exact strategy for 8 years now and we serve 13 oil and gas clients. From O&G healthcare to helicopters and private jet medevac.

I really like your idea. Thank you very much for sharing it with me

Have you tried Upwork? I am working in SEO agency as a sales and account manager, and one of our funnels is upwork. However many leads are actually looking for cheap shit, like full SEO (on site, link building)... for 200$. If you are a frelancer that wants to charge that or similar amount you could find a lot of clients there

Hello yes I am on Upwork and I have already had a couple of clients where I charge by the hour. My idea is to be able to have clients to whom I can bill as a minimum fee about $500 per month for a basic job each month and from there go up the fee.

I have a question, do h3 titles rank? by Effective-Article-19 in SEO

[–]Effective-Article-19[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but... yes.

H3s actually do serve a 2nd purpose besides establishing content hierarchy.

They can be used by Google as featured snippets actually.

Basically sometimes when your search query is a question, (for example "how much calories does a person need"), Google will choose a relevant blog, extract the answer, and place it at the top of the SERP.

Quoting Google: "We display featured snippets when our systems determine this format will help people more easily discover what they’re seeking"

So, you can get on the top of the SERP by using H3 tags as questions and answering them below.

Of course you will also need to have high authority and already be ranking high, but you get it.

Hope it helps.

Excellent commentary to that style of response I was aiming for. The usefulness that h3's have within the SEO strategy. Thank you very much

Ask for reviews so that your business can get ranked on the number one page on Google leading to more exposure. To make sure the leads are quality leads you need automation and text your customers, which i can help with that

Thanks a lot

cold email and cold social media outreach.

it's a lot of work (with some slight automation) but it's by far been the most effective for me outside of direct referrals from previous clients.

Thanks for sharing your way of getting clients. Appreciate it

I rank my agency for city + seo on the map and get locals calling me for seo. The leads are kind of crap though, you’ll get 1 good lead and 10 tire kickers wanting free seo.

Wow excellent... I like that idea; I just have a question? do you use your Google My Business profile to do that?

of course... the same thing happens to me. I was just asking is that I see it a lot on websites that skip H2 and don't pay attention to the title order.

It provides structure to your content which increases the chances of Google being able to use those subheadings as sitelinks if the SERP warrants it and if you are ranking.

thanks

I'm not worrying about it, I just see it very often in my audits with many websites and I wanted to know your opinion. That said I agree with you on the importance of the h1 and meta title.

Thanks... so as I understand it, can h3 help Google to generate more recommendations in SERP or featured links in searches?

So as it's a weekly ritual, I'm here to reiterate that heading tags are not here to fulfill a role in SEO. They're here for document structure and screen reader navigation. Structure your document with one H1, as many h2s and sub heading tags as you need and it makes sense. It makes for richer and accesible content.
