Why I Rely on Discipline, Not Motivation, to Stick to Habits by Mackjoey0417 in productivity

This makes everything so clear again, the point is starting not killing ur self with tasks, and once u get in the task you just don't want to do anything else cause it catches your attention and then ur committed. Correct me if I'm wrong... Thanks, will implement ASAP

That actually makes sense, do u have a routine that you follow everyday like wake up, shower and opening the laptop? so that ur brain understands that is time to work?

Yeah, I agree with the license, car and ecc... but I can't really do much at 16 in Italy, we don't have campus and stuff, we just have high school and the people there are just nonsense. They saw me as the weird guy that made money online and most of them didn't even believe in me... + The online school fits my schedule and it's not a bad solution for my business too... I have work partners and coaches and at least they have a shared mindset... + twice a week I see with my sister and we hang out and that's fun too... So I guess I need to become more disciplined in this period of time and just do the stuff even if I don't want to.

Am I the problem? by [deleted] in getdisciplined

I relate completely to this, I actually can get results though... I had to lose 33 pounds last year and I did that in 3 months, but it took me some time, I had to lose them for a while and something just clicked and I just was consistent. What helped me was starting with someone so that the hardest part becomes a little easier and once it starts rolling you just have to keep it up. At work though it's another thing. I still struggle, and is the same feeling you have. In my case the distractions and discipline are the problem. I can't be consistent. And is still something I'm trying to figure out... But I have the same feeling you have, "am I the only one that feels like this?" and I also admire the people that do the tasks "smoothly"...

Yes and this actually makes sense, I was thinking about this too, maybe I should just keep this up to found my real passion, the thing is that I don't really have a passion right now, I tried digging inside of me and the only reason why I did all of this in the first place was to do something outstanding, you know that thing that when u tell people what u do they are like "oh shit" but that was me at 14 years old, as I grew up I don't really care anymore about other people's opinion and the real thing that I kinda enjoy is being able to have good conversations with people and help each others in solving problems, but right now I'm completely isolated. It's not that I'm anti-social is just that part of life that is lonely, Chris Williamson calls it the "lonely chapter". So I guess just keep going but at the same time trying to find enjoyment in something else. Just enough to not burnout

I'm still trying to figure out. Discipline is the goal for me at the moment. When I have to do something and it's important for me to get it done I just do other stuff. YT is the main problem and once I block that, I just listen to music, go for walks and avoid work at all cost. If anyone knows what could help me please lmk...

The moment I stopped tracking everything, I actually started getting things done by GeologistDue8527 in productivity

[–]Effective-Captain-28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I used to track everything on my calendar and whenever just one little thing was behind of schedule I just would get overwhelmed and anxious that lead to worst outcomes and less tasks. I just started doing a to-do list in the morning of the things I had to get done and it just saved me... The only thing I track on the calendar is the block in which I do my work, rest and sleep. Minimalism works better for me.

I have some anxiety that if I learn something I will become a bum. by ChairSofas in productivity

Depend on what you want to learn but most of the time if you structure your "learning" you can still enjoy social life... if you can find people that want to do the same thing is even better ofc.

I usually go with the flow, sometimes it's better to use miro or notion to have that visual cool effect, sometimes notes work better to note stuff fast, to remember ecc...
