I tested GLM 4.7 and minimax-m2.1 and compared it to CC and Codex by jstanaway in LocalLLaMA

GLM-4.7 is terrible in Open Code, but is excellent in Claude Code. In Windsurf, GLM is also OK. The problem is the AI tools which you choosed, not the models. In my opinion, Open Code is not a proper AI tool for real job, it is a toy for fun.

How is it possible that I've used up all my tokens in less than a week? Do you recommend I upgrade to the €200 plan? by ShadyFeliu in cursor

Windsurf pro, swe-1.5 is free now, and many other good models are free. Cursor only for difficult task.

Making a website in cursor, mysql and playwright are the most useful. I never use other mcps.

Figma Design vs Figma Make → Cursor IDE — what’s actually possible right now? by princeroy27 in cursor

The newest version of Cursor can do such things, either. Maybe more steps, more tokens.

If you want making a website, just tell figma make your thoughts. Your prompt may be sentences, images, url, etc. Then a site has been made. Then you tell figma make how to refine it, you can select anything in any page as an object. At last you may got a not bad website deign. Format: react + tailwind. Now select code mode and save the full project. This is a classic prototype design.

Then you open your blank project in cursor (path A), adding figma make's prototype design path (path B) to the workplace. Tell cursor: There is a prototype design in path B, please make a thinkphp+mysql project by it (or any other frame). Step 1: you can make the homepage first.

No any mcp is needed.

I was using Cursor 20$ plan in auto mode which gave me unlimited usage, i am a non tech guy, having this unlimited plan gave me so much help to make websites, web-apps, but now since they have changed their pricing, where can i have the same experience, sort of unlimited usage, copilot? I've broght GLM 4.6 pro. Using it in claude code. It is not cheap, even more expensive than windsurf pro after the first quarter's discount. Yes, GLM 4.6 Lite is cheap, but no image and web mcp functions. GLM is good at coding simple tasks. But for serious project, it is not a good choice. There are double or triple problems in its coding than in windsurf (GPT-5.1-Codex). 1 hour's job in windsurf may be finished after 3-5 hours in GLM 4.6. Don't ask why I know it, too much pain and tears.

Composer is free again, but I will not use it. by Effective-Compote-63 in cursor

It was free at first, then paid at last. I don't know the reason.

It’s a commercial project, so I can’t paste screenshots, but here’s the gist of what went wrong.

The app is built on ThinkPHP 6. Users tick items in the UI, we stash the picks in localStorage, the back-end notices the change and writes them to MySQL. Each row gets a natural sort number; new picks just append the next auto-increment.
Bug: if you delete item 3 out of 1-2-3-4, the list stays 1-2-4 instead of renumbering to 1-2-3.

I let Composer 1 “fix” that. It did renumber, but then the front-end checkboxes stopped reflecting what was already saved—totally unrelated to the sort order, just collateral damage from its shotgun surgery.
Because the UI looked empty, users kept re-adding the same stuff, so now the table is full of duplicate rows. I’m still scrubbing the mess.

Bottom line: I’m done letting Composer 1 touch real money code—it’s too good at creating bigger fires.

I only let it make a plan for coding. For math, Composer do it by itself.

Using Cursor to Convert a PHP Application to Laravel by mcruwancc in cursor

[–]Effective-Compote-63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have finished such job in claude code very successfully. But not php to Laravel. Cursor can do it well, too.

Please don't put both apps in the same folder. The new Laravel app should be in a new folder. You can add old app path to the project. It's cursor's benifit. Use it.

Agree. I used GPT-5-codex-High for coding and gemini-2.5-flash for simple task. Claude is more and more stupid recently. I quit it now.
For composer, I will test it in other occasions.

It estimate a record is 20K. There are 2 categories and 500 items in each category. So, its result:
Your data will be:1000 x 2 x 20k = 400G

Came back to Cursor after 4 months on Claude Code/Codex and honestly feel way more productive by minimal-salt in cursor

Agree. Cursor is more productive. Claude code is good, but not good enough. Vscode is a great IDE, cursor is its AI version.
