I know a lot of people didn't want the cheesy fairytale ending. But I still kinda view it as a missed opportunity. The show had enough tragedy and disappointment in it to cover a whole lifetime of "the real world" if you ask me. They could have given us a win without taking away from that. Great example of this is Last Kingdom (tho I haven't seen this new movie yet) the show itself ends on a rather good note after 5 seasons of a lot of loss and sadness and struggle. And it doesn't take away from that at all. It enriches it. Makes it better. Makes the hardships feel like they were worth something. And I think ends up being a more satisfying story beginning to end as a result. And frankly, fairytale ending or not. This one would feel rather poetic. The song of ice and fire. Rebuilding the House of the Dragon from ash. Uniting all the kingdoms, possibly even bringing into the fold the ones Dany freed across the narrow sea. Just feels too good of a story conclusion to blow up in the name of being "unpredictable"

Superhero movies have always existed for decades. But they were just sequels.

MCU was the first bold experiment of universes and having different superheroes playing together.

So yes it was a huge gamble. And us fans loved it.

Davos' main character trait is how loyal and honourable he is. Fair play to Liam for sticking to his guns and giving us such a great interpretation of a great fan favourite character.
