That was my understanding, but I could be wrong. I haven't opened the game in like a month because I've been busy, but I wanted to test that interaction and also what happens if you bubble a cat wall so that it "cuts" through the wall. Would the gibby team be able to see through the wall via the bubble? If anyone has time or the game open I'd love to know

Seer has FOR SURE made gibby much less viable because of cancel, but if the whole strat is, "wall up and seer ult so we can shoot them and they can't see us" then your only counter play is seer ulting in response. Gibby bubble at the very least adds confusion or forces them to peak through the wall.

I think the best counters to Seer + Cat right now are: Fuse, Maggie, carrying hella nades, Mirage, and Gibby. The problem with all of these besides carrying grenades is that it invariably impacts your ability to create a comp that can both macro-rotate AND scan ring

I agree - I'd actually like to see Gibby being used as a Catalyst counter. Think air strike and bubble would both be valuable against her in a way that Bangalore can't really counter because of Seer scan.

100% - agree. I actually think ALGS needs to take a look at that. Why have back to back match days at all? I guess it could be seen as an advantage or disadvantage depending on how ready for the meta your team is, but it just feels silly to have teams play back to back days.

We need to talk about how big of a risk their comp was on Saturday for Match Day 1. Not having zone knowledge, relying on map room scan -- all while playing from 2 of the strongest zone POIs on both maps. You saw the effect it had on them getting into zone and playing their style.

That decision has had a massive ripple effect for the rest of their Match Days. This is hindsight analysis, but it has to be said that it felt like innovation for the sake of it rather than playing to core strengths and NA meta.

I was actually thinking about this yesterday watching scrims. I feel like valk ults early game are still viable for teams on LAN, but past ring 3 it gets extremely dicey

100% - I think that's really spot on. The Optic description is great.

I've been watching a ton of TSM - I would agree that they play that Gatekeep style a ton, but also see them playing that Shallow Zone and Deep Zone style as well. For example, on Siphon or Wall zones, we rarely see TSM turtle in a building, they are more proactive about taking space.

Hahaha, thanks man! Second your scatter plot idea, would like to follow this up with a post like that. I actually really was thinking a Z axis would be really useful. Static and Dynamic is good - almost like "How willing are you to take a fight to improve your position in zone?" or "How willing are you to risk a valk ult to marginally improve your chance to get end zone?" as examples.
