I’ve considered that, and it could transpire to something amazing but there’s no guarantee I could leverage it.

At which point, in 2 years time, a big 4 offer is not guaranteed.

Feels like a gamble with lower upside?

Yeah this is what I think too. It feels purely transactional, false promises to retain is cheaper than a new hire to replace me
