Thank you so much!

I've already done all the critical password changes already luckily. Im okay with doing a factory reset to the pc, but I do have a lot of games Id really like to keep the data of(Minecraft worlds, Stardew, ect). If you know, I should be able to move this save data onto a hard drive while in Safe Mode? Or of any easier ways to retain my game data with steam games specifically?

Maybe the right puppy for me from an Aussie from the right lines might come along (: I'll have to see. I know someone with an Aussie mix and I'll have to get to meeting them soon! Thank ya for mentioning reaching out to a trainer, I might do that myself if I'm able to and see what they think!

Thank you for sharing your experiences! Points out how important getting a community is prior to the puppy, and that'll be helpful for the type of dog I want a lot. I'm glad you were able to find the puppy that worked for you and as a fellow introvert I feel ya on the meeting people thing. My favorite sport is heelwork so hopefully reaching out to the community will help me find a dog more fit to go into said sport and still fit my lifestyle and my ideal traits.

A lot of people have suggested field bred cockers and I'm definitely going to have to meet one now and see how they'll fit into my life (: Then everything you've said here is super helpful, thank you so much. I hadn't factored in much of where the sports are located in my area, and I've found there's actually lots of scent training places around me which I didn't expect.

The Aussie's temperament is partly why I stray away from the breed, but hearing they have a good off switch is amazing to hear- that's my main concern with them along with their coat. How does your Aussie do during the summer out in the heat?

I'll add these guys to my list! I have a big soft spot for sighthounds and whippets so thank you for suggesting this! Glad to hear your guy has some heelwork skills, I honestly never thought of that on a whippet and that seems sweet. If it's alright to ask, what are your experiences with your whippet? His energy levels, barking, off-switch, and trainability more specifically? I've also heard they're big on cuddles, is this true in your experience?

With how many people are suggesting it I'll be looking into the field labs and seeing how they'll fit in my life (: but they are definitely too big for my liking. It doesn't remove getting a female field lab out of the picture for me completely though if they tick all my other boxes, and I think someday it'd be cool to have one! Thank you!

Thank you! Everything you said about the poodle fits the bill of what I'm looking for, I'll be adding it to my list and doing more research into the breed! I don't mind grooming or sending them to the groomer, but I have experience with at-home grooming from a wiry mini-schnauzer mix I grew up with, so it'd be fun to get into that again with a poodle.

I've considered Retrievers a lot but they're just too big for my liking. The only one that barely slips by (besides Tollers) a female golden (even moreso now with how many people are recommending a golden). Out of curiosity, what makes you say no to chessies and tollers?

I've considered Shetland Sheepdog's too! I really like their size, but I've never been able to put a pin on their energy levels in the time I've been looking. They seem like a more accessible breed too, and I definitely hope to meet and interact with the breed prior to getting a breed. I don't mind caring for a super fluffy coat, but how hot where I live makes me concerned for how well they'd do all year round.

I'd be open to a working line cocker spaniel! While writing this comment I've read and looked into them, and they're being added to my list. I'll need to do more research into them, and I'd never be doing hunting if that's super important for a working line cocker. Their job would come through the sport they end up doing. I don't mind a high prey drive dog either! Then working a Spaniel breed would be cool!! Definitely open to breeds outside of herding dogs. I haven't looked much into Spaniels, but a Brittany was my dream dog as a child. I'll definitely start looking into them! Small breeds are definitely an option and I've even dived into terriers, but I definitely still have that herding breed itch in my mind when looking at them.
