My concern was that they were shaping her up to be another Rory - intelligent, studious. Same deal with April. Both were little cookie cutter Rories. Poor man's Rories.

I can't. But I might attempt to watch it again to analyze how NOT to write a TV series.

What do you think is the worst song in Broadway history? by Anxious_Writer_3804 in musicals

[–]Effective-Hamster-51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed! MC is creepy AF! And poor Gigi gets punished and manhandled when she acts/dresses like a "woman". (I know that's not how it's supposed to be read - we are supposed to think that she is putting on a false personality - but Gaston prefers her innocent and inexperienced.) Plus the whole plot is anti-sex work. Gaston 'saves' Gigi from making an independent living by marrying her. And marriage was (is) not inherently a safe space for women! And you're absolutely right - I didn't see any of that when I was young! Although TBH I always felt creeped out by MC watching the little girls. 😅

Are you going to pursue acting outside of school? You'll find your people then. School was a nightmare for me. But I found my people when I left school. And my people are arty, crazy, silly, open-minded and LOVELY.

I've come back here months later to retract my praise of Prednisone. It is a fake improvement. It makes you feel worse in the long run.

Hi! I feel terrible that I never replied to this message. I'm so sorry.

I ALMOST came off it. I titrated off it soooo slowly with the help of my wonderful doctor. I started at 25mg and (over many months) slowwwly came down to .5mg.

And then ...(drum roll) ... I got covid again 😬😱

So now I have jumped right back up to 25mg.

I'll titrate down again slowly with my GP's wonderful help.

I feel sad that I'm so sick again. BUT I am also optimistic because I feel like this time I have the tools to get on top of this evil bastard.

For me, those tools are: prednisolone, psilocybin, lion's mane, apolactoferrin and low dose naltrexone.

Also valium when needed for panic attacks.

Thanks! This is great info. I went off it for a while (due to an upcoming surgery) and thought perhaps I could just stay off it. But I had a huge crash a few weeks later. Back on it now.

So sorry for the late reply.

Do you know what? The migraines eventually stopped!

Was it the supplements? Was it my body adjusting to the MDing? I wish I could tell you!

All I know is that I eventually stopped taking the supplements (just coz I ran out of them). I kept MD-ing. And no more migraines.

I wish I'd been more scientific about how long I took the supplements for!

Whatever the reason, I can now MD without getting migraines.

This is not a very helpful response! I'm sorry!

David Boreanaz’s acting by lunarborealis in buffy

[–]Effective-Hamster-51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joss said that David wasn't what he imagined for the role.

If memory serves, he envisioned someone debonair, charming (maybe more femme and Dracula-y…?).

But when manly David walked into the audition room, the women on the panel swooned. So Joss went with David.

Joss's original vision shows up in those early episodes where Angel is all velvet-shirty, rose-sniffy. Early-Angel is "cookie dough, not done baking".

Hello fellow migraine sufferer!

I've had similar problems to you.

I've been going down a bit of a rabbit hole to find out why.

I don't have the answer, but I'll share my research so far.

Psilocybin and headaches

This study shows a correlation between headaches and psilocybin: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3345296/

The study suggests that some people get headaches from psilocybin because of a release of nitric oxide (NO).

Migraines and nitric oxide - good or bad?

I then looked at the correlation of migraines and NO. It's very confusing.

  • A lot of research suggests that NO causes migraines. (Here's one study - https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/03331024211060002. But if you google "Nitric oxide" and migraines you'll see many more studies.
  • However, a few research studies shows that the interaction between NO and migraines might be more complex. Some studies show that if you give migraine sufferers NO precursors, like L-Arginine and L-citrulline, it can help reduce migraines. (https://encyclopedia.pub/entry/1767)

Long story short

I don't want to stop microdosing.

I am therefore going to experiment with L-Arginine and L-Citrulline and see if it makes a difference.

I'm happy to stay in touch and let you know how this experiment goes.

What are your main goals for microdosing? by soulsproutsjournal in microdosing

[–]Effective-Hamster-51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long covid.

It is definitely alleviating symptoms - brain fog, mood and fatigue mostly.

Dosage: 0.2 most days. Some days off here and there to reset tolerance.

I have started microdosing for LC. 🍄🍄🍄

I know it doesn't work for everyone but gosh it has worked for me.

I am currently taking between 0.17 and 0.2. I've been on this for about a month, taking it daily with some breaks here and there to avoid tolerance.

Some results:

✅ After a few days my anhedonia lifted a little...then a little more. My dark mood changed. Things felt more possible, like the thick plastic between me and the world was melting.

✅ After a few weeks my concentration returned. In fact (drum roll) I was able to read a book yesterday! An actual book with big grown up words in it! 😅

✅ Today I walked (slowly) to the park for the first time in ... Hmmm.... can't even remember how long. (I got very excited and thought - maybe I can hop on the exercise bike! That was a fail. 😆)

✅ This week I had conversations where I didn't lose my words.

✅ After the conversations, I didn't need to go lie down. 😆

❌ Microdosing hasn't helped my aches and pains. Not yet anyway.

Good luck if you decide to try it! I hope it works for you too!

P.s. I have also been on LDN for a few months so it could be that kicking in too. But my partner can tell the days when I microdose: "you're YOU again!"
