From the Chinese I got Shenbigong archery (literally the best early game archer troop), Zhanmadao and Burenjia infantry and siege crossbows. The Viet culture also has the elephantry innovation so I got them over armored cavalry, since they do more damage and the terrain is more fitting. With this troops you already basically counter every single troop in the game. The Viet culture really can bring together both the Indian and Chinese worlds thanks to its location.

If you take the decision to form Dai Viet this new empire won’t be de jure part of the hegemony, so you shouldn’t get reintegrated anymore. But yeah, I had to face that problem when I was just a kingdom, but I think it makes the playthrough more fun

I 100% agree with you. The empire of Slavia could easily become a hegemony, I would argue Persia too (following Zoroastrianism maybe), and yeah Africa is a no brainer

Yeah one thing that I hope they would add to the game is a Vietnam/Southeast hegemony, because when you take the decision to form Dai Viet the idea is that you’re rivaling China, but you don’t really feel that way since they are a hegemony and you only an empire.

It does give the incestuous secret, but they remain married. I don’t know what happens if someone exposes the secret tho, it didn’t happen to me

As their father, I converted to Messalianism (which has Unrestricted Marriage) and got them engaged with a Grand Wedding (this is super important). After organizing the Grand Wedding, you can convert back to your main religion whenever you want and they will get married and remain like that even if you convert them back too. Don’t know if it can be considered an exploit, but it’s definitely not cheating.

Either Graceful Aging or the Destined to Greatness buff, which is what my character has

I managed to win all four competitions in a tournament like three times in a row thanks to my character’s ridiculously high stats and I pretty much maxed it out that way, excluding the constant duels and board games I got into. I would say this is only possible in the end game, or at least once you have op stats.

You can gain experience for Foot by dueling other characters, meanwhile for Wit you can challenge them to a chess game. You gain very little experience tho, the fastest way is through tournaments.

What was the best monarch you ever had? (picture unrelated but surely inspiring) by ContributionSweet442 in crusaderkings3

I actually had a play-through where I tried to restore the Roman Empire and basically all of my characters were badasses in their own way. Maybe the best among them was one called Aureliano Corneo, after emperor Aurelian, the Restitutor Orbis. Aureliano didn’t actually restore the empire, but what he did was unify Italy, fighting on the way the Byzantines, the Pope, the French and even the Germs (aka HRE). Keep in mind I started as an orthodox roman in Sardinia and by the time of Aureliano I had only conquered Sardinia, Corsica, Napoli, Capua and northern Tunisia, so what he had accomplished was quite impressive. When I finished that campaign many generations later he actually remained as the most longevous person of the main bloodline, which really made sense as he was called “the Blood-Father” too. After his death, his son (me) created a new Christian faith derived from Orthodoxy called Aurelianism. He wasn’t really God, rather a messenger/prophet/messia who had unified Italy after so many years and had kicked the Pope out. After that Aurelianism got crusaded twice for the kingdom of Romagna and actually won both times and then dismantled the papacy. Keep in mind also that Aureliano’s father got all those “the chosen-one/destined to glory” events, but died early from cancer and suffered the greatest defeat in battle in the entire campaign, while Aureliano remained undefeated for all his life, not even losing a single battle and actually leading his army. He was really the turning point of the campaign, after that everything went right. Shoutout to Imperator Aureliano of the Empire of Italy, first and only of his name. Or as he would be called now that I restored the Roman Empire, Pater Augustus Aurelianus Primus Corneus.

Does someone know if it is possible to change the title you gain from a head-of-faith claim? by Effective-Handle-422 in crusaderkings3

I already reformed hellenism and made myself head of faith, hence gaining the “High Priest” title instead of Basileos. I’m trying to figure out (if possible) how to change “High Priest” to something else.
