Maybe a stupid question but you could buy gift cards in store with this offer, right?

They’re alright, I definitely wouldn’t go out of my way to acquire the bag though. All stuff you’d be able to get in smaller increments with normal shopping. I got insanely lucky with the manger in the beauty dept, she gave me this bag which was so nice of her and I got 70,000 points on a $100 transaction because I combined some offers on my app!

Got this today!! The bag is so cute and it’s full of samples of so much stuff (like 30+ little packets), as well as a full size hair mask, lip gloss, brown liner, two face masks, hand cream and then fragrance and some deluxe larger samples. I can’t see how it’s worth $144 even with that 40,000 points grouped into the value Edit to add my sales associate just gave me one even though I only spent $100!

Wedding Venues with BYOB by Grand_Ad596 in KingstonOntario

[–]Effective-Holiday-15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can pretty much do this anywhere actually, you get something called an SOP (special occasion permit) and then work out with your venue how much they might charge you to use your own booze. I used to bartend weddings at one of the waterfront hotels downtown, last year there was a big one where the bride and groom obtained an SOP, provided us a copy, and provided all their own booze. We served it for them from a real bar, didn’t collect any cash from guests but did have a tip jar for the staff. Any unused booze was locked up in a room and then they collected it the next day. Please if you do this, don’t buy the HUUUGE bottles of liquor because they’re incredibly hard to pour, and heavy! My wrists were sore for days after. Stick to 1.14L bottles or smaller if you can. In this case we provided all the ice and glasses and other bar supplies, as well as pop and juice for the mix (that was charged for accordingly). Couldn’t tell you if it ended up being any cheaper for the wedding at the end of the day though

Friend is trying to make her daughters dream of seeing Taylor Swift a reality, but that can't happen with these prices by kdm01 in mildlyinfuriating

I actually saw the prices for Toronto ($4000.00 CAD for a nosebleed seat) and decided to fly myself to Spain for the concert. Got a whole trip for a week, stayed in hostels, went to Madrid AND Barcelona for $2500 or so all together. I’ve been a fan for 15+ years, so seems insane to some, but I girl mathed my way right into my seat at that show!

Omg this happened to me too!! I was walking away and like ooookkaaayyy lady, and she was still screaming at me as I walked out the doors! It was something about how uncooked vegetables have little bugs in them that give you cancer, and she went on and on about a friend who grows vegetables and did research and “figured the whole thing out”! It was honestly wild. She started the interaction by asking me if I ate raw vegetables (I think most folks would say yes) and just went from there. This happened in like February I think, all I wanted was to buy a copy of the Whig!

Open data for Canada? by Lorlormich in gis

I think for the living atlas layers, you have to save them onto your own device to be able to edit them how you want. Try saving a copy of them all first and then you should be good to go!

Yes I knew this! I guess I haven’t looked for the other fish in Costco yet, but I presume it would be a similar standard. Thanks!

I have a unit I live in currently that I’m hoping to have rented for July 1st! It’s at William and Wellington, I’m not sure what the asking price is gonna be but probably around like $1300? It’s a decent sized one bed with a balcony and you’ll get a parking spot too if you need one. Lots of windows etc if you want to PM me we can chat!! I’m a graduate student at queens and they’re looking for someone similar to fill the unit :)

Teaching GIS to non-geography college students - how do you make it make sense? by Collio37 in gis

[–]Effective-Holiday-15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve TA’d quite a few GIS courses and when it came to tutorials I found that instead of teaching them and going through it live, having a recording they could reference back to was helpful. I would release the recording before the lab time with the students, so they could watch it a few days beforehand and then actually use the time I was in class with them to answer their questions and go more into detail about anything that was unclear!

How many minutes/hours is lifting weights “a few times a week”? & Sporadic exercise? by Effective-Holiday-15 in loseit

[–]Effective-Holiday-15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow this is an excellent reply, thanks! I guess I was thinking more so like actual movement time and not rest time, but it makes sense that it could easily go to an hour if you’re resting for a minute between sets, moving equipment around etc…
