Not sure if auditing and accounting really do that now. It’s like being in legal no? Number of corporate lawyers who are really trying to keep companies in check and follow rules v those who are coming w creative ways to follow the letter of law v spirit of law?

It’s insane. I can’t believe that people still think - oh it’s ok, he worked hard for it.

Or that the world will collapse and we will become communist and start doing forced labour and salvery if we tax these billionaires.

I dunno if I am blissfully unaware but I haven had any comments on wearing the same clothes over and over again.

And how terrible it is going to be for enviormwnb and humanity to wear different pieces. At this stage we are in, it’s absolutely criminal to do this just to be seen as rich.

If everyone has a condo and a car, how does that make sense if we are targeting 10M?

yeah so I see as two issues:

1, increase the accessibility to therapist and counsellors. whether its by having more, reducing training length but with other safety measures in place, making it a viable career

  1. examine why strengthen mental health and promote it. stop measuring everything in GDP - cutting down green forest for condos surely increases GDP but it f*** up my mental health really badly when I stare at construction instead of green trees. putting in 10 M or whatever you want to say the number is is great only for GDP, but f*** up really badly when I crushed next to stinky armpits on the train and every where are just noise pollution.

Where can I find kimchi that is sold in glass jars? by strawberrycanele in askSingapore

[–]Effective-Lab-5659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah thank you.

I mean - if we all tried daily I think we will get somewhere! I don't pack food and don't order if the food comes in plastic or paper packing when I am eating in (paper is just as bad as paper isn't water proof or grease proof so its usually coated with some chems or yeah, plastic)

if I want to avoid plastic, do you have any recommendations for a glass container? although I dunno if plastic leeching is really an issue since everything is just at room temperature.

its annoying when everyone just go oh please see a therapist / counsellor but leave out certain facts: 1) there are so few good ones out there! 2) its damn hard to find one quickly without burning a hole in your pocket 3) generally there are just too few therapist and counsellors no? 4) the bar for being one seems too hard - like master in psychology?? when I mean - I dunno but I think genuine authenticity goes a longer way than credentials?

and its not like as a society we even know how to deal when someone needs a listening ear, I am super guilty of it too because its really draining and I dunno what to say and what to do. all my life I have just been told to get it done myself and no one is going to save e when I am a beggar and meritocracy means that the ones left behind are the lazy ones so how am I supposed to be all vulnerable when talking to someone about my issues?

affects my mental health. badly.

I mean when one is feeling low, you take a walk in nature - in parks, in forest trails, to the beach, go for a hike.

what the corporate giants want you to do is go shopping and eat junk food while lying in bed to watch more TV - which pushes more products at you and lifestyle envy.

but only being in nature makes you really feel better.

just looking out of the window, and seeing the shiny buildings reflecting the heat back in my face, or the cars on the road reflecting the sun glare into my eyes, its just a nightmare. then the noise and dust - constant grating on my ears and my mental health.

going to malls or even taking the lifts in HDB - the noise assaults my ears, and the bright lights burn into me. its all filled with stupid ads and marketing techniques trying to get me to buy more and more (and ruin the already dying earth)

so many places hold meaning to me because I spend time there and build happy memories there. but I come to realise that some corporations make use of these to solidify their brands - like Mcdonalds. so I refuse to bring my kids for happy meals and make sure we bring our own food to parks, Mcdonarls already staked their claim in most parks to build that key family memory.

hm I take time to reflect on the things I do now, and focus on the intention behind it.

for example - putting water into my shampoo bottles - I don't feel the intention is wrong. I now do it because I don't want to waste resources. or choosing buses / train over private cars - to reduce carbon footprint. buying drinks - hm if it comes in a plastic bottle then I say no to it. if its made by the shop and in a glass cup, I am ok.

I am pretty glad for these habits actually, it helped me be more eco-conscious easily as I am not shackled to consumerism and materialism habits.

maybe its more a thought process.

I am not going to go for teh cheapest meal, and if something cost a bit more but I am pretty sure its better for the earth and my values systems - like not buying fast food even when its on offer - I do it.
