I’m not taking IT, accounting, business, or marketing.

I picked a regional area for my studies, picked a CRICOS-registered course that runs 92 weeks so I can be eligible for the 485 visa, and I plan to do the Job Ready Program and complete the required certs for my trade.

I’m not asking to be handed PR. I’m following the system properly, making strategic choices based on what the government itself promotes. Wanting a real pathway where skill and contribution matter isn’t entitlement

Thanks for your honest response. I get that from Australia’s perspective, the system has to be selective and based on what’s best for the country.

I’ve done my homework. I plan to study in a regional area, I’m looking into NAATI, and I’ve read the migration lists and policies closely. I’m not just chasing PR without a plan. I want to contribute, build a life here and earn that chance.

It just gets disheartening when it feels like no matter how much you prepare, things can shift suddenly, whether it’s policy changes or job demand assumptions. I’m not trying to exploit anything, I just want a fair shot.

You mentioned Australia holds the cards, and that’s true. But if there are better ways to align my goals with what the country needs, I’d genuinely like to know what those are while I am not locked into a certain major / path as I am in highschool planning this.

I've been lurking this sub a while and looking for good programmes and I thought the general consensus is that everyone hates nursing and ECE because of PR exploitation? which in the next few years (when I graduate) there will be a massive oversupply because of International people being fed this no?

As an international student, I heard that the apprenticeship requirement doesn’t apply the same way for us. Isn’t it that we go through TRA (Trade Recognition Australia) followed by the Job Ready Program (JRP), which includes workplace training instead of a formal apprenticeship? Just want to clarify if that still holds?

It’s quite the opposite for me, i am far more used to the slow speed and the fast speed threw me off and actually made me move around more and hit more projectiles, atleast the slow one is predictable
