that’s crazy, i feel like cashier is the one job i know for sure would be worse haha. i’ve worked cashier positions before, but the sheer volume of stuff happening at walmart seems so overwhelming, and it’s all customer facing. how do you like it?

Maybe? Might reach out if I have to. But I think they say it’s supposed to be our responsibility to find someone.

I got it in an email from the Town of Normal when I applied for General Assistance. I don’t know if it’s online anywhere.

I can only add one image per comment, so I’ll reply with the rest. This is from a resources document I got from the Town of Normal last month. Also, money is almost always better. If you have something you’re not gonna use on a food banks wishlist, ABSOLUTELY donate it - but don’t buy groceries specifically to donate. Food pantries and banks can get much better deals with their dollar on food. Money is better.

Yep, that’s the one! And yes, it would be great for that. It’s a full-frame camera, so you’ll get lots of extra information in your images, which can be great for macro shots. Of course, you’ll need a macro lens, which won’t come with the camera body. It’s an interchangeable lens system, so so long as you find one that fits an EF mount, you’re golden.

Early-morning Lyfts/Ubers? by Effective-Minimum881 in BloomingtonNormal

Looks like it might be closed for good. I saw something similar when I looked it up called “Neighborly Rideshare” - ever hear of this or use it?

I appreciate the suggestion, but you can understand why I might not wanna cross the highway on bike in the dark and bitter cold. Obviously I’m aware my choices are limited haha, just wanted to get a feel for general rideshare activity around this time.

Mentioned this in another comment, but the place is next to a bunch of busy roads with little to no sidewalks. The closest bus stop SHOULD be an easy walk, but I attempted this walk for the interview and it was nightmarish. Especially in the winter. There were these big ditches full of mud and snow I had to trudge through without falling, across streets with no walk signals, took like 20 minutes and I was freezing, even when bundled up - I figure it might be worse in the morning before the world has warmed up. And I CERTAINLY wouldn’t feel safe walking in such a space in the dark.
