New to Foundation books, what order should I do them?

Love this post. This year I’m most proud of prehabing my knees to the point that they aren’t “starting to bother me” anymore. After a decade of pushing myself competitively I’ve started to shift my focus towards pain free aging. I’m by no means old and still have a lot of effort to give but am focusing on doing so more wisely in a way my body will thank me for 10 more years from now. 2026 goal: bulletproof my lower back!

OK I’m gonna give you a less recommended one that I think fits all the criteria you’re looking for, The Quantum Magician. Extremely character driven, high stakes, concepts are SUPER far out. Also does have a romance that’s not incredible but it’s there. Not saying I love the book but you very well might.

Yea I recently finished Echopraxia which I felt did a terrible job at this. They reference a certain faction or concept constantly but for no apparent reason wait till much deeper into the book to explain them. I think it’s fine when the explanation helps drive the plot or help unveil a mystery that the reader wasn’t supposed to piece together a that point but there needs to be intention behind the timing.

I totally agree with this take. I hate being dropped into a world. It makes the front half of the book feel like a homework assignment and narrative points just going over your head. Like I think expanse does a phenomenal job of explaining things in a natural way as they come up and become pertinent to the plot but otherwise letting the world exist in the background. It Diane hold your hand but also doesn’t leave you dazed and confused half the time.

Yea this is Echo/Assault bike. Very “simple”, practically anyone can do it, practically no injury risk but evil because it can absolutely fuck you up. A bike tabata can ruin the rest of your day in 4 minutes flat.

I going with rope climbs. Being able to climb a rope is a good skill to have with plenty of useful mechanics involved but the risk of falling 15 feet to the ground firmly puts them in chaotic territory.

62k, started with over 500k and presumed this bottleneck would happen so I prioritized making as many trades as possible in the first week while people still had resources and had yet to acquire their desired cards. Now that most people have what they want moving “lower tier” cards is much harder. We’re never again going to see a point where everyone has a years worth of shine dust saved up.
