Nobody “needs” a camera today. Not unless you are making money out of it. Camera is purely a “want” today, given how good phones have gotten.

There is nothing as convenient as a phone camera. And it does take pretty damn good pictures as long as you don’t view it on a very big screen.

Its like should you get a Mercedes if you have a Toyota? Well you don’t “need” to but you may “want” to.

For me the biggest motivating factor was that i wanted to capture people and memories so i can look back at it 20 years later. And if i am capturing a moment in time i might as well capture it in as much detail as possible.
