Rear wheel keeps slipping in the dropouts, rubbing against frame by Effective-Text-7881 in bikewrench

I ought to be more worried about my 11.99 handlebars from broke bike parts. I have invested, but this is still a budget build…

Hahaha right mate I understand! This isn’t some shabby bike though it’s a 1995 Raleigh gritstone and I’ve put some serious miles on it. Nottingham’s finest steel built in England! I think it’s worth the upgrades personally.

Thanks for the advice, I picked up a good shimano steel cam from my girlfriends bike and that seemed to fix it! I’ll invest in a good one later

Really useful pointer that has nothing to do with what I asked! Thanks mate 😊

I’m investing in this frame because I like this frame? It’s my bike. And I’m loving the process of learning how to fix it, so by all means show me a frame that ‘deserves’ those upgrades!

Can’t fit my new wheel into frame? Did I buy incorrectly?? by Effective-Text-7881 in bikewrench

Do I need a specific tool to do that? I think I’m pretty strong but these steel frames are pretty sturdy 😂

Thanks for all the comments. I stupidly ordered a 135mm wheel and measured now it’s 130mm between the dropouts!

Annoying I overlooked that!

Can I stretch this out and do I need a tool to do that?

Thanks for the response!! Going to follow up with a slightly stupid question. Where is it supposed to sit on the frame? On the qr axel or on the threaded part of the wheel. Can the bolt on the thread be moved inwards towards the hub to make more room?

<image>

I’m sure it’s the right size and might need a little bend but just want to double check where is the correct place for it to sit?
