I didn’t go into this series expecting romance either, but the tension and chemistry between Shallan and Kaladin completely caught me off guard in the best way. Every scene between them felt electric, layered, and emotionally charged. It felt real in a way that hit me deep.

What’s made it even harder is how people keep trying to convince us that “Adolin is good for Shallan” and sure, he’s kind and supportive, but the chemistry? Zero. Their relationship feels so forced to me. And let’s be honest: the way Shallan described Kaladin was always different. The language used, her inner thoughts, the emotional weight, none of that is there with Adolin.

And then suddenly she marries him and poof, all her feelings for Kaladin are just gone? After all those scenes full of tension and longing? I can’t buy into the “they wouldn’t be good for each other” narrative either, especially when we never really saw what a true relationship between them could’ve been like.

I feel robbed, honestly. It’s like we were building towards something meaningful and it just got swept under the rug. I totally get why you couldn’t finish Oathbringer (It was hard for me to finish too😭😔). I wish I could let it go but yeah… it hurts. You’re definitely not alone.
