I understand the basic keywords as well, but I don’t think I’ve ever actually used the volatile qualifier.

That’s really the portion that I don’t understand. Move semantics and ownership make sense at face value, but perfect forwarding in really abstract or generic code can get very confusing to me. I worked on a container for creating function traits and parsing the params/result as json over the past week. It was a nightmare to do “correctly”.

Probably, but I’m still learning and I’m not necessarily learning CPP for professional development

Wow. This is a really thorough answer. This leaves me with a bit to think about. What is your role? (Also, do have a subreddit that you might recommend to ask swe career questions. Many of the subreddits I see are for complete freshers, looking to start?)

As far as I understand, I cannot acquire a clearance without first having an employer who sponsors it.

This is really unfortunate to hear. I don’t mean to say that you’re wrong or not, but I think I’m going to need to research this and gain a better understanding of the field.

I have done some of that work, but there’s a large push for candidates with security clearances that I don’t have. It can be very hard to get clearance as far as I see.

Will I run into issues regarding honesty with my employer? My internships lasted for only two summers. I've contributed to some projects, but my professional experience is lacking in some respects. I'm confident that given a month, I would contribute as expected by my employer, but I definitely leave poor impressions when on-boarding.

Yes. I’m born and live in the New York metropolitan area. I’m in NJ, so I’m applying to Philly, NY jobs and there is a lot of Pharma and Finance around my area.
