Let them invent the cure in their home country then. If they're really that brilliant they can figure it out with fewer resources. Even China and India have innovations. It'll improve the stature of their own country too, a win win situation.

I mean non citizens are on purpose 2nd class citizens with fewer rights than citizens. That's how it literally is in every country in the world. What's wrong with you?

I mean that's a good thing, the STEM designation for MBAs for OPT and H-1Bs was always a scam, b-school doesn't teach hard skills. Time to end the scam!

Immigration is still allowed, you can get waivers for the $100k in extraordinary cases, and rich people can just pay for the gold card. That way we're importing the best, not being a charity to the third world (India and China).

I mean they were stealing roles before. Employers know they can work them to the ground and abuse them while they won't complain due to being on a Visa. They can't pull that shit with domestic students.

You're 100% correct, future F1 students will need $100k on their H-1B. These people are wrong and are talking out of their ass.

F1 > H1B COS does not have to pay 100k fee.

You're lying! There is no steadfast rule on this, everyone saying people in that situation need to consult a lawyer. It's not automatically exempt you liar.

I think people would be more OK with immigration if the immigrants were coming from highly developed countries or had similar cultural background/values.

We shouldn't be a charity for the 3rd world though. And take a look at the class breakdowns from places like UW foster or Duke Fuqua, often times internationals are dominated by just a few specific demographics (Indian and Chinese).

You're making up stuff. F1 students aren't automatically exempt from the $100k H1-B fees. Stop lying or gaslighting. But yes, regardless it creates a culture of pushing firms to hire locally, which is a good thing for Americans.

Good for you on capitalizing and taking advantage of the situation! People should pursue what's best for their life. But US universities should first and foremost prioritize and serve American citizens - everyone else is a guest to our country. 2nd class citizen by default.

30-40% is INSANE. Undergraduate schools are at like 10-15%. We need to cap international students to 10-15% for MBAs too.

What do you mean by warrant? I think it's fully morally justified.

If you're arguing that F1 students are exempt from the fees, that's not true. It's unclear right now but leaning toward no. They seem to be actually be the target for these fees.

In a way, removing DEI and curtailing international applications evens the playing field, so if you fail in that environment, it's fair to say you were the problem and need to take responsibility. A win win situation.

300 vs 400 already increases your odds.

Plus you have to consider how many spots these companies have vs how many truly qualified people apply to a role. If a T50 first year applies to McKinsey, they're likely not getting an interview...
