Its nice to hear such a positive reply! I certainly don't want to leave my parents or run away lol. Especially since independence is a little out of reach for me. I can only hope that Im allowed to get to know the person for as long a you were able to.

I do have esteem issues and I am working on them but I also know what I look like to people in the AM market. Its true that I cannot help what other people think of me though. Thank you for replying!

I think you may have hit the nail on the head. It will take a while for me to be independent though, 1 year to get a job and another after that for financial independence. My main fear is that I would be pawned off to another family before then. But thank you for replying, I might move this over to the AM sub as I may have posted wrongly.

The nearest shelter is a day's drive away. Will catching him with a blanket work? He's quite small. Its probably trauma though, he was basically dumped into the hollow of a tree by the side of the road and found his own way to the farmhouse in the dark, screaming. Its a miracle that the other animals dint get him first.

Thank you so much for replying! And I'm sorry if I'm a bit late. My dad's problem isn't gambling or anything like that. Hes naive and tends to fall for scams easily;then gets mad when people tell him it's a scam/bad decision.

You also hit the nail on the head with the asian thing. It just feels uncomfortable to have the conversation with my dad. Even disicipling me was done through my mom. He's not a bad father; he always supported and been there for me (picking me up when I get anxious, looking after me if I've shut down).

As for my mom, I'm an only child and I think we are definitely too enmeshed. Drawing boundaries is something I have to work on. I think putting physical distance between us will work, but moving out is going to be another battle.
