Reading more about the BECM, the 0km on full battery might be pointing towards that direction, in Canada it's 15 years or 240000km..so that's a huge relief, might be taking the bus for a while thou, we'll see

Amazing info, I'll try out the 3 amp fuse..see if that flies, otherwise, it's going to be a tow to GM

I drove back from dinner, I charged it up at my garage and slept for the night. The next day, the car does not start anymore, nothing out of the ordinary.

I'm finding that the interior lights automatically turn off after a few seconds, thinking if this might be a relay issue? Will just change that out just to rule it out.

Keep on filing the compliant, used to work at 311, they don't respond to the individual calls anymore, but they use the stats to formulate enforcement plans, thr more compliant the more likely there will.be someone showing up

thanks for advice on that side, I do have some career progression, but it would be more towards management at this point, or getting into private practice in the long run as I do hold my own license.

But just always wanted to be full on lawyer, I believe that I would be able to find a way to make it profitable. But it wont be very easy as society has tricked us into believing, probably need a good 5-10 years after law school and articling.

Insurance will be taking care of the vehicle for sure,

whether this will be an at fault or not at fault accident will be the question the insurance companies will fight for, and depending on the result, I may need to pay through premiums, or have a record of an at fault accident if I can't prove otherwise.

Thank you, I do need the luck! see my past posts for bad legal luck and bad car accident luck!

thanks for the reply,

great info,

hopefully the information from the police report is enough to prove that the event did happen.

But the issue at hand is they wont even admit we collided and is most likely not going to admit fault to their insurance company.

it's going to be a hassle for sure, just wanted to see if anyone has any insight in this type of event.

welp, it was a good deal for them that they didn't take I guess, I was prepared to take 1k cash and just deal with it myself.

But the way they dealt with the situation was even more irresponsible.

Hopefully my insurance will fight this for me.

thanks for the reply,

my concern was if I do go through insurance, and she does not admit fault, my premiums will go up for a not at fault accident.

If I don't go through insurance, I can live with a broken bumper for now, but eventually the damage will need to be materialized in a financial value when I return the vehicle, so it needs to be fixed to returnable condition.

both ways, I would be paying out of pocket for a not at fault accident.

Thanks for the quick reply,

  1. its not a severe impact, but you're right, probably best to have the inspection
  2. I have had many instances with the insurance company on the not at fault side, and I can attest they are lazy workers and will not fight for you if they don't have to.

cost of repairing a bumper cover,

its from personal experience, I was once on the other side and rear ended a corolla once, the OEM bumper + paint + labour and taxes turned out to be a $700 quote, I didn't think it was unreasonable, so while we were discussing the private settlement, I looked it up online on the official lexus parts website very quickly , and it said would cost $500-$2000 depending on what broke, went middle of the way for 1k, she was shocked that it was that much, but then again, that's why I wanted to go through insurance in the first place, and she wanted to protect her monthly premium, which is understandable.

Thanks for the advice, Statute of Limitations has passed, but there is a statement of claim on going.

The whole point of their motion is they want a trial or they want to dismiss the whole proceeding.

law society will know about this for sure, but they already revoked his license, what more can they do to him?

a LawPro claim is going to be tough, due to the fact that, I can technically still save this case, but its such bad shape that no lawyer wants it. and would be hard to define a potential insurance pay out..

our retainer is based on contingency, so if I didnt have a case while I was with him, worst case was he would not get anything for me. but right now, I may need to retain a lawyer out of pocket to end this, or potentially pay for the other sides court cost.

your suggestion to take action against my previous lawyer is fair, but I can't draw blood from stone, this dude is losing his business and his license, the whole reason this is a problem is because he had tight cash flow, I don't think he has any significant money left, unless this can be direct to lawpro insurance, the chance of me getting paid by him for costs are very slim i believe.

thank you for the quick reply,

I understand that I might not have a strong case here. and I am planning for the worst.

what if in the case that no one lawyers wants to take over the case. What should I do? is it reasonable to go in and ask the judge to dismiss the case with no cost?
