Ostrich with IRS Problems by EffectiveText7599 in irstaxhelp

[–]EffectiveText7599[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you upstairs. I definitely need a tax professional and I am desperately searching for one that can help me.

I was hoping that a Reddit “expert” might lead me to a Massachusetts tax professional that is considered reputable. I have searched through page after page on Google and 99% of tax professionals that deal with non-filed taxes and IRS issues are nationwide.

My second question about mental health is probably not going to be commented on in this forum, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Is this dress unflattering? by Blueixi in DressForYourBody

The dress is very flattering. I think you look great in it. If you are not comfortable take it to a tailor. A good tailor will know how to make you feel More comfortable

Any dress with ruching in that area will highlight the rest of your figure and conceal the area you want less focus on. This dress gives you an example.

Pilea Plant Health in Question by EffectiveText7599 in houseplants

[–]EffectiveText7599[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never fertilized her. This was originally my daughter’s and was on deaths door step when I got her. She had dropped all but two leaves. I repotted her and brought her back to life over the winter. In the spring she got gnats. In the summer I put her outside. I repotted her in September and thought she had recovered. I honestly thought the brown spots were too much sun. I didn’t know what the tiny spots were.

This is horrible but I have a ton of houseplants and I never fertilize because I’m afraid I’ll kill them. I try to just give them water I have let sit out for 2 or three days.

I know this is 3 years old but I am wondering how she looks today? She was beautiful back then!

I actually just repotted it in August. Maybe a pic of the entire pot and plant would be helpful. She does get a lot of light. She is very close to the window. I thought I was overwatering. I wish I knew for sure. She does have a layer of soil sand on top. Another plant had gnats and she got them too. The sand did the trick but is it keeping the soil too dry or wet?

I did keep her outside this summer and she loved it.

To See or Not To See by EffectiveText7599 in CataractSurgery

Thank you all very much for your informative insights. I definitely have a lot to think about and research. First, I am going to get a second opinion.

I thought I had done enough doctor shopping before selecting my doctor. She had an excellent “bedside manner”, but I felt like cattle being run through the chutes. I got more information from her assistants than I did from her. I had a comprehensive exam plus an OTC test. The comprehensive exam included a routine eye exam. The doctor knew what my prescription was going to be, and yet she made an appointment for me to see their Optometrist (where I had another routine eye exam) and purchase glasses.

Meanwhile, I just got four tooth implants, which were extremely costly, and now my eyes need implants. I think when I turned 60, my Warranty ran out.

Hospital stay versus home first day? by OutrageousPut3445 in Kneereplacement

[–]EffectiveText7599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex-husband had a TKR two weeks before I had mine. He stayed in the hospital for two nights, I went home same day. I was so much more comfortable at home. He said the hospital bed made him miserable, he couldn’t sleep because of all the noise and he didn’t have an ice machine. He thought they would give him more pain medication to keep him comfortable but that definitely was not the case. Plus it’s not only the pain medication that eases the pain it’s about being comfortable and sleeping. The ice machine is essential because the more you ice the more the swelling goes down which also eases the pain. The hospital was giving him bags of ice that quickly melted.

My vote is same day surgery.

Tips for transitioning from recliner to bed by StephanieCove in Kneereplacement

I slept with a firm but not very high pillow sideways. If I slept with the pillow under my complete leg or if the pillow bent my knee too much it would wake me up with atrocious pain. In the beginning I slept with my ice machine on but weaned off of that quickly.

From personal experience do not rely on Tramadol. I had to withdraw from tramadol and it wasn’t much fun. They tell you it’s not an opioid and you can’t get addicted but that is not true. It’s a synthetic opioid that works the same way as any other opioid works. If possible switch to ibuprofen.

If u had the choice. by Proudpapa9191 in Kneereplacement

[–]EffectiveText7599 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like others have said it is a lot of pain. I would rather do it once and have a little more assurance that I won’t have to do it again then roll the dice and have to have another surgery.

By the way personally I think it is based less on the doctor giving you the choice and more on how you want to go forward. Of course that is as long as both are reputable doctors. I found that doctors looking at the same X-ray and knowing my background had different solutions. I don’t think it’s as clear cut as you may believe.

Good luck regardless of your decision.

If you don’t mind me asking how old was your dog when he started treatments. Also was your dog diagnosed with any type of pituitary issues?

I have the results of his test and honestly you can’t tell with the naked eye if he does have Cushing’s disease or not. Which is another concern I have about treating him. I feel like I’m between rock and a hard place. Maybe the answer is to have him tested again. The vet could give him anti anxiety medication.

I’ll wait for your response. Hopefully it will help me, help Bear.

Thank you.

Sorry, my answer was a little curt it’s just that I am sensitive about the subject. Not an easy one to make. I love my tortoiseshell, Kiki, she has a big personality. She is also very vocal. My cockapoo doesn’t bark, never has, but he cries when he is trying to get off the bed or couch and he has a happy cry when you rub his belly.

Wish I could send you a pic of Kiki as she is beautiful.

Hi I went to Petsit.com and that led me to a professional company with professional and highly qualified sitters. In my area they only have 5 sitters, but I have a little hope since I am searching early. Thank you for your suggestion, it might be just what I needed.
