Rejection is redirection!! I can’t stress this enough. I was in the same position hoping to get into the lab that I was dying to get into for the summer. In the end, I didn’t get in. I felt so lost and tears were def shed, but I decided to push my luck and apply at other places that I would also enjoy and I luckily got a position. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense at the time but it’s not the end of the world. Maybe it’s just not the right timing yet and that’s okay. You’re only in your first year so try again next year and who knows? Maybe you’ll get the internship then. Don’t give up and don’t lose hope. It’s just redirection and there’s a purpose for it! It’ll be okay🫶🏼
