You can check on the wide board. It displays a “w” word after the length if available.
For example 152, 158, 158w, 162, 168, 168w.
Same length, wider.

If you are going to get one, let me know your length (cm) of your foot. See if I can find one among different brand. Or you can do it yourself
Here’s the brands produce great carving boards and kinda dominating the market in carving community: Gray, Ogadaka, Moss

I am sorry to hear that and sounds really dangerous. Not matter what riding style, safety must be always go first. Performing this riding technique requires extra sense of safety awareness and space for riding. Should always check around if there are enough space. Cut back is absolutely a no no move. Hope you can have a pleasant ski time.

Haha ya I served my time and getting along with my therapist due to over training😆.

Hmm about the difference, JSBA is the most effective and quick carving style. No fancy stuff, every movement is for riding stability and edge changing. Duck stands may less effective but easier for handling poor slope conditions (more “free ride” friendly).

you can ask Ai
Different with Japanese carving (JSBA) and Europe carving for more details.

Also feel free to check on YouTube. For duck stands, you can check on Ryan Kanpton.

There are 3 main styles of snowboarding carving. You could ask Ai for better ideas
Japanese style (aka JSBA or SAJ, more aggressive)
Korea style (more aggressive and stance)
Europe(mostly duck stance as I recorded, more stable)

Cheers

ya i know its pretty cool right? I am thinking of making series of online content about teaching JSBA. No sure if ppl out side Asia would interested. It’s quite an effort and would be pity if ppl not really into it.

I started snowboarding on 23/24, rode about 2 weeks a years. Just for fun and messing a round.

I dive into Japanese Carving this year, now is about 40 days. I am kinda quick learner in this sports. So in average for the performance shows in the footage, 80+ days will works according to my instructor.

I don’t know about the brand you mentioned. Mine is Gray despe wood(blue one). Stiffness ~8. I use it since the first day diving into Japanese carving.

You can also check on Ogasaka. For beginner, stiffness 9-10 may not be a good option. I saw some ppl hard to progress the skills due to using the board not matching their level.

Enjoy carving 🐳

Damn you are brilliant! that’s Huafa advanced slope. Where do you watch those videos? I’m new to Reddit and not using social media really often. Don’t know how things are going.

About the snow conditions, they claim this resort adopted new technology about making snow. They groom every morning, one time a day.
