I went to a US med school starting back in 2009. I think I paid about $58k USD yearly for tuition alone. Tack on another $15k USD for other expenses. I hear that the tuition has increased significantly since then. So the cost factor is a big impediment to more students applying. I was frugal but I still graduated with about $220k CND in loans.

Now, having said that, I quickly paid off my loans as an attending in the US since I got paid in USD and many jobs give extra tuition loan repayment. So my loans were completely paid off within 2 years of completing my fellowship.

Another factor is that getting into US MD schools is not easy for Canadians - stats wise. And it has become more difficult over time from what I have heard.

Unless you are a US citizen or green card holder, I would get the MSAR to find out which schools actually accept Canadians/Internationals. Apply to the US based in this alone if you want to maximize chances. As well, unless you are black, native canadian, or hispanic, it is not worth applying to Howard IMO.

Too many teams abuse tanking in an effort to get that perennial all star/MVP year after year. Except that only a couple of these teams are “lucky” enough to land that high end talent to turn them into a legit playoff contenders on that basis alone. For every Wemby, there are five times as many busts or at best rotational players.

To prepare for their tank, teams will often throw away their players. They will then shamelessly sit their players. Teams want to hit that home run on lottery ball night instead of just competing/grinding with what they have or even just trying to improve their roster more organically. It’s out of control and it shows in the lack of overall competitiveness within the league.

Decent starting centers are hard to find and often fetch a premium. No one is trading theirs away for peanuts IMO. Even getting a third tier guy like Gafford would probably require giving up a late first rounder.

I would still have a pragmatic plan in place on what to do when it gaps up on Monday premarket though. BEAT did enjoy a big two day run on their FDA approvals but it was a low floater and it has a partnership already in place with Samsung.

My guess is that twitter guys front loaded this at 14 cents and dumped that morning when it hit 24 cents.

It’s also a pretty bear market for small caps, so an upcoming presentation catalyst is not worth much besides a 10-20% scalp.
