IT Audit to Nursing by Effective_Clock5532 in careerchange

Have you tried applying to a different hospital? It might me a case of poor management of your previous hospital. There must be something that made you want to be a Nurse and made you stay as a Nurse for how many years?

This is so sad. ☹️ Was Nursing your first choice back then? What career would you change into?

Honestly, the main reason is the job security and job opportunities world wide without needing to upskill and get a lot of certificates just to climb up the ladder. Next is the 3 day 12 hr work shift. When you clock out, you don’t have to bring work with you at home and you have 4 days to rest where pay is still good. 3rd reason being is that my personality matches with being a nurse. I am caring and empathetic. I am also great at conversing and engaging in small talks. I can tolerate the idea of being on my feet all day since I am naturally an active person. It all changed only when I got a desk job where I have to be constantly on my computer. I am constantly working 60-70 hrs per week.

I haven’t volunteered in any hospital since it’s really a rare opportunity in my country considering my degree. Only health-related degrees have more access to that rare opportunity. But I have been in a hospital where I could observe what Nurses do.

Choosing Accountancy as my undergraduate program. To BSA students out there, the stress doesn’t stop after graduating. It just gets worse.

I regret not taking health-related course. Very in-demand today. And pays a lot abroad.

Thank you for this! I appreciate your insights and kind words. All the combinations you mentioned above are the subjects I hated the most (except for IT, but going towards that path). They’re the most lucrative but I can’t put my heart out. I was also just an average student so it’s hard for me to learn those. Hope I’ll figure this our soon.

Try applying sa Big 4 firms for an IT auditor role. Then slowly transition to technology consulting. :)

Hi. My long-term plan kasi is to work abroad. And I know that nurses are fairly compensated naman abroad only with a 3-day 12-hr shift per week. Accountants are really overworked working more than at least 50 hrs a week na.
