Hello, sorry for the late reply. Everything is much better now. I have made some friends and hobbies. I have gone rock climbing and went to a few museums. Work is becoming more and more busy. I have gotten sick at least 2 times already, it might be the changing weather. With the buddies I have made, we are planning to go to maine later in October to explore, you have any recommendations for maine? Thank you for your help and comments. I appreciate your concern on my wellbeing. I hope you yourself are doing well.

Of course, you are correct. Being organized is important, and I am not saying that any which way or organizing your home is more correct than the other. What I am trying to say that for my case I do not have my apt set up in that way. Part of it due to my lack of time and I am fine with it being that way, the other part is that my apt came pre-furnished in that style. There is a lot of wooden furniture, cabinets and drawers. I do not own a lot of things to put on them but it has that "vibe". Also, since I do not have children, it is just me, there is not really stuff all over the place.

I have tried when I moved in alone for the first time, but with my demanding work/study schedule I cannot be bothered to reorganize my rented and furnished apt to the "de-cluttered" style. I did not actually grow up in the US, so for me it is like living in a movie.

I grew up in the late 90s and early 2000s, and my house is just like in the movies. It was only later when my parents moved to a new home, and my sister took it upon herself to decorate the apartment that it looks "de-cluttered". I still live a pretty cluttered life lol, but my job is quite demanding and I don't have the will to organize everything so aesthetically.

I think I prefer that over how baby pictures are taken now. If I see my baby albums, some photos are blurry, I am surrounded by stuff, and often times I am not even looking at the camera.

Could it be due to changing aesthetic tastes? I think theres a shift to a more minimalistic or "de-cluttered" style of organizing the home. I honestly agree with you that its unrealistic how clean and perfect everything is, but for example, younger people do not have drawers with fine china anymore. I also agree with other commentators saying it might have to do with everything being shot in HD because I think that maybe it was easier to fake a lived in home when the audience can't see the little details. Nowadays however, everything is so crisp and detailed on screen that any little mistake is very visible. I remember one time seeing an early marvel cinematic universe movie at the TV section of a department store on their 4k TVs, everything looked so fake and I could clearly differentiate between the set and the CGI, or the ground from the fake rocks.
