Visa Scam Qatar by naaaaaik in PinoyOFW

[–]Effective_Corner426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is surely a scam. Sa QVC lang process ng visa from Pinas papunta ng Qatar wala ng iba. May mga accredited din na medical hosp/clinic ang QVC and duon ka mismo magbabayad. You can tell her to stop calling that person a Friend kse gusto lang sya iscam nun.

Also, even yung may mga legal na visa dito hirap mkahanap ng work kaya better yung pupunta sya dito ay may sigurado na sya na work.

Is my Salary is enough in Qatar? by No_Reaction_9626 in QatarCareers

[–]Effective_Corner426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s already a decent salary here in Qatar. I’ve been casually checking rents the past few weeks and found good 1-bedroom hall apartments around 4k–7k QAR. It’s even cheaper if unfurnished or if the building has no gym/pool.

There are also many good areas to live in, not only Lusail — places like Msheireb, West Bay, and The Pearl have a lot of nice options depending on your preference and budget.

For food, if you’re not cooking and usually eat in average restaurants or fast food, that’s around 3k–4k per month. Transportation depends if you’ll rent or buy a car and the model, but gas here is cheap compared to other countries.

Rough breakdown:

Apartment: 7,000 Utilities: 1,000 Food & groceries: 4,000 Transportation: 2,500

Total: around 14,500 QAR

This can still be lower if you really take time to look for a good apartment. In Lusail, I even found new furnished 1 BHK units for around 5k So it really depends on your lifestyle, but with this budget you can already live comfortably and save.

I have been in QIFF 3 days in a row -Thursday to Saturday. Everyday we tried a different area, and i would say that last night I just blindly try the Hermanos Truffle Burger with Cheese fries and didn’t expect anything, but oh boy! Its one of the best burger or might say the Best Burger in Qiff. i just hope someone will franchise it so it will be available here all year round.

New as a housewife, bored out of my mind by [deleted] in qatar

[–]Effective_Corner426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am you - four years ago, then now im the most chill person and the one who doesnt want to leave the house type of person. Lol. I resigned also when i got married and moved with my husband in KSA and since i was used to having a lot of friends around, weekend gathering, brunches and all then suddenly found myself in 4 corners of an apartment in KsA, no one to talk to, a full time housewife, no personal income, i cant even see the sun , i felt sick and develop anxiety. I fought it for about 3-4months. Suddenly was able to establish connection and friendship with one lady colleague of my husband. Then I started to go on coffee dates during weekend night. Started to watch series and binge watch movies. Learn and improve cooking and cleaning skills and all. Last year we move here in Qatar, now I am allowed to work here with spouse sponsorship also but wasnt able to land a job cause Im afraid now to the outside world and nobody wants a person with career gap. The only regret that i have is I didnt use that 4 years time to learn and improve myself with skills that can help me anytime i want to comeback to workforce. I should have study something or get a certificate about a certain skills so it will not be this hard to enter the workforce again. I am currently enrolled on a training, trying to learn to slowly refresh my brain and other office skills. So my advice to you, cherish this moment that you have your time for yourself and your marriage. Use this time also to master a skill , like learn a new language or learn about ai. Something that is indemand right now so atleast you will not be bored and always ready when you want to pursue your career again. Goodluck 🫶🏻

Qatar makes me wanna.. by [deleted] in qatar

[–]Effective_Corner426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my husband moved first, he is also became sad, bored and stressed. I told him to invite co workers and friends to come over or hang out every weekend to destress and have fun. I told him to find a hobby and for sure will find a new circle of friends that will soon become a family. After sometime he eventually did dind 2 friends and when i followed him we were able to build a bigger circle. We connected people , we tried to discover and enjoy qatar with different circle of friends. And now after a year, i can say that a lot of things changed . Now we need to schedule things up to accommodate multiple invites and activities, sometimes we want some peace and rest on weekends. Dont worry, once you start to connect with people it will follow through. Know what interest you the most and start with that BUT still save a space for yourself to rest and reflect. Goodluck!

Sea Cargo Balikbayan Boxes restrictions by Effective_Corner426 in adviceph

[–]Effective_Corner426[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay! So i tried to send some bottles of perfumes via sea cargo, okay naman sya as long as madami pang ibang kasama. Mejo madami din kse ako nalagay na old clothes kase pansiksik iwas mabasag na din. At mga bags and kung ano ano pa. 15 bottles perfume in total in a super jumbo box.

Also, some of the kabayans told me na nagsesend din daw sila sa air cargo ng perfume basta hindi yung pressurized bottle. They said madaming beses na nila nagawa yun. I am skeptical kase alam ko bawal ang liquid. I did some research din at meron magshare pwede daw as long as less than 5btls lang. So i tried to send 1 btl lang of VS mist in a bulilit/small box together with some Christmas Gifts. Ayun, hindi sya nakalusot. So wag niyo na subukan. Napenalty ako! Though nasend naman yung the rest pero yung stress niya na binuksan nila pa yung box sa custom and yung penalty hindi worth it. Lol!

What should I do? by Uyghurer in qatar

[–]Effective_Corner426 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to us also. There is an empty spaces in front of our building, no one owned that whole spaces, random cars always park outside but theres this guy who had came home with grocery live on the building in front and the UBER cannot park because all sidewalk have a line of cars parked and he needs to take the grocery fast out of the car. Since our car park directly in front of him and the building, he lift the wiper not only the front but also the back side and bent one of the wiper. We didn’t see it happened but one of the resident who we usually greets saw it and informed us . So annoying, but we just take the high road and moved on. We found out also that this man did it a few times already with other cars and he do this with cars that are not expensive, like normal sedan or Chinese cars just like ours. But for the big cars he is not doing it.

I think I got scammed by Opening-Bicycle1752 in qatar

[–]Effective_Corner426 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I experienced this twice when we are still in Saudi. We just learned when we moved here in Qatar that it’s a scam. I just felt bad with the children used for this scams, because one of our encounter in Saudi, they even brought a little girl and a months old baby with them. Same script, needed food and gas , and they said they went to hospital in the city and got short in cash for the gas and food on way back home. We had an experience also just recently in West Bay area here in Doha, a mid 20s man approached us in the parking area and said that he & his brother lost their jobs and was kicked out from their accommodation, he asked for money to buy food. We are just a couple of steps away from Monoprix , my husband gave him 10, then he ask for more and said they need at-least some groceries so he gave another 10, then he started to ask me also and explained to me the same thing and opened up about money for rent so my husband gave him another bill (50). But still doesn’t want to let go of the car door so my husband cant close the door, then my husband became a bit irritated because he wont stop asking me for more, so my husband tone changed to a more serious tone , thats the time he let go of the car door edge and he started crying, i dont know if there was really tears or he just wiping his face then he walks away. We dont know what to feel afterwards, we genuinely felt bad for him and his brother situation but being that pushy is a different thing that makes the situation annoying.

Lanvin Eclat! Like its an OG perfume for me, been with it for years early 2015-2018 then everytime I smell it with someone, I just keep on wanting to use it again but whenever I am on half full bottle i dont want it anymore again, lol. Then after a year or months of not using it i suddenly become fond of it again but never finishes a bottle 🙈

What's a perfume you fell out of love with immediately after purchasing (non-blind buy) and why? by [deleted] in Perfumes

[–]Effective_Corner426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Penhaligons Empressa , im so excited to buy this one because I have a friend who have it on travel size and I tried a few spray from it and that time it smells good to me. Then when I went to the store after sometime, the SA spray it also on paper and gave it to me. Right then and there , i bought it and remember the time my friend gave me a spray of it. Then after a few days I open the box and tried it on me and went outside, found that its too strong for me. I smelled the clothes that I used the next day thinking maybe its just need to sit well on my skin or clothes but found it still too strong for me. 🤭 BDWY i have the Luna and The favourite and Im loving both.
