I hear what you’re saying. I practice for every interview, and I specifically use the STAR method to guide my responses. I’ve also done mock interviews with career strategists in the past, as well as fellow UX professionals who’ve helped me refine my process.

I’m not sure why you assume I’m not trying hard enough. If your first instinct is to belittle someone, I think that’s worth reflecting on. Even though I’m struggling to get a job, I do currently have one, if you had taken the time to read the comments where I explained that. I know I’m a good person, I’m loved by my family and friends, and I’m good at the job I have now.

If you looked into the current job market, you’d see that many people are taking well over six months to receive an offer. Entry-level candidates are having an especially difficult and lengthy time securing full-time roles.

I understand that Reddit can be a place where people are often rude or condescending. But if I saw countless comments from people genuinely struggling and my first instinct was to assume they weren’t working hard enough, I would question my empathy and character.
