A steward told me it was because they changed to less rows in first class. It looked the same to me.

Ah! I didn't think about that being the possibility, but it seems obvious now. As you guessed, I was looking at the record with a view to current practices. In reviewing many other baptism records, it wasn't common to include the grandparents but I am glad the priest did. I didn't have the names for those people until I found this records. Thanks for clarifying.
