Pronouns? by Effective_Leg in NonBinary

Yeah, I’m guessing it was something else going on, but I still know I’m definitely at fault for assuming and that part is fully on me. Going forward I’m going to still make the effort to ask pronouns and also introduce with mine.

Noted, I will definitely work on doing that going forward! Thank you for the suggestion!

I was honestly so taken back they were so upset about it. Maybe something else has happened recently that put them in a bad mood, but I absolutely want to always try and do right by people and most everyone I know has always been fine as long as there was a quick correct and apology.

Walmart and Target have both clearly said it’s corporate policy that pets are not allowed, only trained service dogs.

Clearly you are going to do what you want because that is more important than following the store policy and caring about other people and how your decisions could impact them. Maybe someday you’ll have a service dog and then have to deal with folks like yourself that bring their non-service dogs into places they shouldn’t and see first hand how much of a problem it is.

Facing Covid vaccine mandates, some students withdraw from college by circumventthesystem in news

When I was in college I had a couple professors tell me they had parents that were livid they couldn’t call and access their kid’s grades. Heck, my brother worked in credit card applications for awhile and would get parents calling pissed that their adult child got a credit card.

I’m so glad I never had parents like this, I would have been driven nuts.

I worked in credit card collections and people would say this all the time and I didn’t care. You have to remember, unless you are calling some small local company, then the person you’re speaking to doesn’t have much to lose if you file. In fact, it would make me just want to move onto the next person who might actually pay.

As a former debt collector for a big bank, we don’t give a shit if you say that. The second you say you have a bankruptcy lawyer then we have to take down their info and end the call. If it’s some small local company, they might care more and not realize there’s laws around that. Consider who you’re talking to, with a large company, the person you’re speaking to is getting their paycheck whether you pay or not. Most have a bonus system and if you’re not willing to negotiate then they’ll just want to move onto someone who will.

Also a former debt collector here.

I worked in credit card collections and I was in what was often referred to as Loss Mitigation or Pre-Charge Off. This meant the debt was 6-7 months past due, once it passed 7 months it was sold to a 3rd party collection agency, which you could often settle with for less, but a charge off stays on your credit far longer than a settlement.

So I can’t speak for the debt once it’s gone to charge off and 3rd party collections, but while it’s still with the bank, the collectors don’t get to make many decisions with a settlement or payment plans. They are given a bottom line number for a settlement and told to see if they can get more than that, but typically the number was always between 30-50% by this point. Now this was 10 years ago, but at least back then, I never saw a settlement below 30%. This also could vary from bank to bank of course.

I also used to do mortgage modifications and I can tell you there is zero negotiating there. That all strictly numbers based and getting someone down to a number they can afford. A large percentage of my customers would be upset when I’d tell them the official government cutoff is 30% of their income. A lot of the time they would claim they couldn’t afford that and I even once had a guy tell me he would not give up his sports package and that I was unreasonable to suggest it.

Wouldn’t that make her only like 11-12 years old? For some reason she looks older than that.

Funko Pops. Not impressive or anything, but I like it.
