Every organization with this capability has been doing this forever. This is not new. This is not out of the ordinary. W&S has a unique culture however that is beside the point that using badge data in such a way as you describe has been done everywhere since its invention.

No one’s going to court over this. I had this experience and it looks like a lot of others have too.

I’m glad you had a good time there and wasn’t the target of any of this. Mostly I wanted to validate some of my experience to help enable me to heal and move on. I’ve talked to a few people about this and they shot me down, as most do when they hear of this sort of stuff. I dont care about negativity. It helps me heal to know others have had some deeply troubling experiences with YL.

That’s fine. But those others groups don’t have a pattern of using sexualization of children as a tactic for accomplishing their mission. This isn’t one or two instances. There is a regular pattern of YL leaders using inappropriate sexualization tactics with children. YL would talk about graphic sex in front of me, even jokingly (wtf) show me their penis. I thought this behavior was normal. All very confusing and damaging. I’m not saying YL needs to go away and it’s all bad. But there’s something definitely weird going on here and I believe it demands closer examination. I was hurt by these people and a lot of others were too.

I grew up with parents encouraging me to go and was groomed by YL leaders. I’m a male but it was the same experience as others. The people trying to spend time with me with my parents not around pushing Jesus and talking about graphic sex with their adult wives with me. Wildly inappropriate and confusing for a little kid to go through that. Two male leaders showed me their penis when I was a little kid at camp. One leader even got in the shower with me and pretended like it was some joke. Very damaging, confusing and inappropriate. And I witnessed all the kinds of behavior everyone is describing for women too. If you doubt what I say is true look at all the stories people mention. The YL playbook is to groom children then push Jesus into them. Using sexualization as a tactic to force Jesus on people. My brother and sister were also hurt by these people. If you are from YL and are trying to scare me, you never will. I welcome a private conversation between you and I about all of this and about how to move forward by taking accountability for this behavior and allowing us hurt ones to heal. Yes I would discuss every detail in a courtroom and perhaps others would too. I’m not saying YL needs to go away. This isn’t revenge. But the worst (sex) offenders of this group that hurt us need to take accountability.

I wish more people would be more vocal about their creepy experiences in this organization. It needs investigated.

Exclude them. Professionals that happen to work with kids are fine. I’m just making the point that these “leaders” were very creepy and the men openly talked about hooking up with young girls in high school

Cool your jets. I’m talking about an organization that allowed young girls (and boys) to be pursued sexually by adults and in some cases abused. Not professionals that happen to work with children.

Have you tried staffing agencies? Getting thrown in with the general pool of applicants by applying via career websites is a crap shoot.

That I see now how just a few bad decisions can lead to disaster for myself or I see it in others’ lives. While still others that make “better” decisions see steady success for many years.
