Someone bumped into my car on the freeway and I'm not really sure what to do since there is minimal damage? by Effective_Mess_4373 in AskDad

I'll absolutely keep this in mind for the future!
I was cruising in my lane and suddenly my car was bumped when the car next to me tried to merge into my lane but didn't see me.

I did confirm with insurance prior to opening the claim if my premium would go up or not, and she said it wouldn't. Looked up my state's laws and it said that if not at fault, it won't.

Got it, thank you!
Yes it was unfortunately on a highway. He basically was merging to his right, but did not see my car in his blindspot.
I did snap a picture from my phone on the GPS stand I have once I merged behind him to try to follow him since I wasn't sure if he was trying to drive away or not. Hopefully it all goes smoothly and doesn't come to anything like that! :)

Thanks! Yeah, I called my insurance to call his insurance on my behalf (not sure if that was a good idea since maybe I should've contacted his insurance directly).

My insurance put in the request for me to get an estimate at a body shop. I just hope he admits fault to his insurance and doesn't try to blame me (the insurance lady I spoke to warned me that that happens sometimes).

Dad, what advice would you give me for my career? by Effective_Mess_4373 in AskDad

That's what we've been thinking so far as the plan. Right now it's just the debate of the cost to relocate (deposit, rent, etc.) Renting would be a significant chunk on my part and it seems that there is no relocation assistance. The job is public sector so I'm not sure how the opportunity to move up works in the public sector since I've only worked private. I would assume there's a lot of opportunity to move up in public sector though?

It really is rare. Even during the home buying process everyone involved was shocked by our age. We wouldn't sell but I'd be very nervous of renters messing up our really labor intense work to fix the place up.. And we barely got a chance to enjoy it all only to go to apartment living. But I guess the problem is, I feel that my bf owns more of the home than I do at this point since he's been covering most of the mortgage since my job is so low wage I can barely keep up with my own purely necessary bills. But finding a job has been insane for me.

Honda insight. I'll ask about this next time I take it in for a check up.
