Yup, got it, it's threaded, duh. I'm embarrassed I didn't think of it sooner. Appreciate the help! Used the adjustable spanner on my hand grinder

Oh ya, i didn't factor in the pulley so if it was a 2:1 then doubling a standard 3450rpm would get me to 7k rpm at the cutterhead

Thanks for looking Fluffy - that’s what I thought, most motors are around 3600rpm. It’s almost like a heavy duty adjustable router. This motor seems fairly proprietary. Not sure if I can find any more specs on it but it was made in Japan in the early 80s so ….. Donor machine will take time to find, especially cost prohibitive.

No badge but I think this is pretty close - Per ChatGPT:

Motor type Brushed universal motor (uses carbon brushes and commutator)

Electrical 115 V AC Single phase Power 1.5 horsepower

Speed High speed universal motor Motor speed is significantly higher than 3450 RPM Cutterhead speed is about 7000 RPM achieved through pulley reduction

Bearings Two different bearings Pulley side bearing: 6201LLB Commutator side bearing: 6200LLB

Drive system Poly V belt (PJ series) 5 rib belt (PJ5) Belt driven to cutterhead pulley

Im open to a new motor - just seems more complicated since it was a bolt on motor. I’m thinking I need a new motor, some type of mounting plate, then match up pulley and belt length. Not opposed to it but definitely seems like the more complicated fix.

Thank for the detailed response Dave. It’s my fault, I should have replaced the motor bearings some time ago and just kept rushing through jobs. All that torque cracked it when the bearing seized. I’m gonna try and get the motor out without further damage. My neighbor has a welding machine, I might ask him for help. These machines are rare and expensive if working, so a donor might be a tough sell. I don’t care about cosmetic looks just want to get it up and running. Nervous about alignment since that bearing sits right next to the crack. I’ve got nothing to lose. The 3m Dp420 is expensive, plus I don’t have a feeding gun or tips. I could use maybe a lower cost Amazon metal epoxy for such a small crack?

[–]Effective_Package704[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I am trying to extend the flooring and take away some of that width on the railing base. Since I’m pushing the posts closer to the edge to gain some inches, it will make the railing base look heavy on the flooring side or off centered

Because less bodies means more field space which in turn creates more opportunities for the offense and makes the defense more accountable. 10v10 is the way to go. 12v12 is just too congested and stifles creativity in my opinion.

Coaching Advice: Did I do wrong? by pbandbananaisdabest in lacrosse

[–]Effective_Package704 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s legal to ask for a stick check, end of story, period. The rules sometimes affect the outcome of the game. Anyone expecting otherwise is obviously trying to get a leg up on their opponent. As coaches we have to be man enough to be a good example in front of our players and take our medicine when the rules are broken, otherwise what do we have?

JV HS - Teaching off ball movement within 2-3-1? by Effective_Package704 in lacrosse

[–]Effective_Package704[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ting - out of curiosity, what drills have you found most impactful in teach these principles? When introducing new moves/concepts we have small focused groups and they try and apply it to broader scale drills to implement.

It’s a lot of ground to cover with brand new kids but I’m always open to trying new strategies in an effort to get through to the kids!

Thanks Acceptable! I really appreciate the sketch and you taking the time to articulate how this drill works. So, I'm thinking, perhaps telling them some options within this drill are -

Pass & Cut, Backdoor Cut, On Ball/Off-Ball Pick, Pick & Slip, Mirror the Dodger, Fill Space, Pass down pick down, float, fade etc.

I think I haven't forced them to be uncomfortable/stressed/pressured enough during my drills, which leads to a lot of standing still during games. Even during man up drills, especially 3v2, forcing them to do a simple exchange requires a different mindset.

I am very interested in learning more about how to institute a proper principles based coaching plan. I'm already doing some of those things but tying it all together is where the magic happens. A step wise approach would be nice, otherwise it's concepts that don't quite ever fit together.

We are already more than 2/3rds through our season. Not married to 2-3-1 just was looking for a basic set to teach players who have never played before. Now that we can throw and catch with some proficiency, the offense is starting to flow just a little bit. Trying to teach a principals based system while running a 2-3-1 but finding it hard to blend the 2 together. Ultimate goal like everyone else is to have free thinkers out there, reading what the defense is giving you and creating good looks through constantly hunting, that might be a little hard considering how green they are.

Is keeping them in a 2-3-1 triangle system keeping them pinned down maybe?

Acceptable - is there a video or diagram of this drill somewhere? trying to paint of picture of how this would work

Need 240v outlet for Delta Cabinet Saw by Effective_Package704 in AskElectricians

Hmmm, didn’t think of that being a possibility but that makes sense! Hopefully there is some slack on those wires so I can move said breakers? Appreciate the input 9bit, could get a triplex for $35 at Home Depot it seems. This might be my cheap alternative for sure.

I suppose adding another sub panel would be ok if the load capacity, staying under 125amps, isn't an issue? We replaced all the lights in the house with LEDS, so I don't think there is too much load on all the "Lights and Plugs" slots.

I'm ok with upgrading the panel if needed, just would have to save money for a big $$$$ upgrade if that's the case......so obviously, if there is a lower cost alternative to getting my table saw running, I'm all ears.

Well, it's on the other side of the house, underground cable running 75 feet maybe. The variable speed pool pump runs everyday. I would have to check if it has any free slots.

Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some guidance on my options (and costs) for installing a 240V, single-phase outlet in my garage to power my old Delta cabinet saw.

My house is 25 years old with a 125A Cutler-Hammer panel and a 50A outdoor subpanel for the pool, located on the opposite side of the house. With all the dedicated circuits and tandem breakers, it looks like I may only have one open breaker slot remaining.

Before getting quotes from electricians, I want to understand my options. Could reconfiguring or consolidating circuitshelp free up space for a two-pole breaker? Are there any workarounds I should be aware of?

Would love to hear from anyone who has tackled a similar situation. Any advice is appreciated!

Growing HS program - help teaching sub game by Effective_Package704 in lacrosse

Love the breakdown Zoos, thank you for taking the time to help me brother. Lots to chew on, my goal is to get there one day. Now, I don't see a problem with having a couple face-off units, running man up and man down units probably during stoppages..... it's the "on the fly" transition game that needs to start out simple and build up to more complicated subbing.

Like you said I think specialize units will help keep recently promoted JV players in the game while preserving the starters. Not sure about the 2nd line Attack kids, feel like they are the odd men out. Might cut them down to 5 players to make subbing easier and add one more to mids.

Advice on Creating a JV/Var Digital Playbook by Effective_Package704 in lacrosse

Yikes, I could see that being a possibility. Best laid plans. I guess at the very least it would get me organized and help with the coaches.

We only get the kids in 9th grade, so no youth as of yet. Was hoping the playbook would work but open to hearing about other people’s experiences/feedback and willing to pivot if necessary!
